Overview

The Analytics Lead at Welocalize is a high-impact role central to the company’s mission of developing a world-class data analytics function.  We are looking for a high-performing individual contributor that can help lead the team: This position demands a proactive, curious, technically skilled individual that can manage dynamic and rapidly evolving requirements and deliver measurable results. This role is a go-to resource for delivering consultancy-level analysis, reporting and insights in support of critical Welocalize initiatives involving stakeholders up to the senior executive level. The Analytics Lead is not only a data expert but a strategic partner that anticipates challenges, provides actionable recommendations, and helps drive the evolution of our analytics capabilities. This individual will work closely with the Head of Data Operations & Analytics to ensure the analytics team is equipped to tackle the most complex problems and deliver business outcomes.
 
The Analytics Lead is a critical role at Welocalize, requiring a unique blend of technical expertise, strategic aptitude, and leadership skills. This role is ideal for a proactive, solution-oriented individual who is passionate about elevating the company’s data analytics function to new heights and driving significant business impact through data.

Main Duties

  • Advanced, Proactive, Consultancy-Level Analytics:
  • Complex Problem Solving: Tackle the team’s most challenging analytical problems, designing and delivering innovative solutions that improve business outcomes and optimize performance.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Deliver high-quality analysis and reporting that provides actionable insights at every level of the organization, from operational teams to senior executives.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Serve as a trusted advisor to stakeholders, translating complex data into clear, concise insights and driving consensus around data-driven strategies.
  • Strategic Leadership
  • Consultancy-Level Insights: Act as a key advisor within the organization, providing high-level analytical insights and data-driven recommendations that drive strategic decisions across the company.
  • Technical Innovation: Lead the development and implementation of advanced analytics capabilities, including data modeling, machine learning, and visualization techniques, ensuring these tools deliver business value.
  • Capability Development: Collaborate with the Head of Data Operations & Analytics to refine and enhance the team’s methodologies, processes, and performance metrics, driving continuous improvement in analytics practices.
  • Technical and Operational Excellence:
  • Collaboration with Engineering: Work closely with engineering teams to ensure seamless integration of analytics into operational workflows, enhancing data accessibility and usability across the organization.
  • Process Optimization: Lead efforts to streamline and optimize analytical processes, leveraging cutting-edge tools and methodologies to maximize efficiency and impact.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay ahead of industry trends, continuously seeking out and implementing best practices that enhance the team’s analytical capabilities.
  • Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration Toward Business Objectives
  • Team Leadership: Mentor and guide junior team members, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence within the analytics function.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Build strong relationships across departments, ensuring analytics initiatives are aligned with broader company goals and effectively support business needs.
  • Representation and Advocacy: Represent the analytics team in high-level meetings, advocating for data-driven decision-making and ensuring that analytics insights are integral to strategic discussions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related field strongly preferred; equivalent experience acceptable. Master’s degree or advanced certification in data science is a plus.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in data analytics with a proven track record of delivering consultancy-level analysis and insights. Experience in a strategic consulting role is highly desirable.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience driving team-level performance (with or without management responsibility).
  • Expertise in data visualization tools, especially Microsoft PowerBI, and proficiency in SQL are a must; proficiency with Python, R or other similar technologies, and/or experience applying advanced analytics techniques, machine learning, and/or other data engineering tools is strongly preferred.
  • Superior communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to convey complex technical information in a clear and concise manner both verbally and in writing.  Capability and comfort engaging with stakeholders across all levels of the organization, including senior executives.
  • Ability and willingness to ingest, synthesize, and apply large amounts of information quickly in order to develop quickly into an expert on Welocalize data systems, structures, and analytics capabilities.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic, deadline-driven, and performance-focused environment.  Ability to drive multiple projects simultaneously, to identify and communicate constraints in advance instead of after missing deadlines, and to be accountable to quantifiable business impact as the measure of performance.
