Zantech is looking for a talented Database Engineer to support our Federal Client during a cutting-edge enterprise information technology implementation.

The Database Engineer will be focused on ensuring the successful migration of existing MS SQL Server databases to PostgreSQL. The candidate will be responsible for optimizing and supporting those databases and migrating them onto an AWS cloud hosting platform. This position will work collaboratively with a team of software developers in support of a government client.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

• Designing, developing and maintaining database infrastructure
• Creating and managing data pipelines, ensuring data quality and consistency
• Creating stored procedures that analyze, automate, and transform data
• Design and manage database schemas, tables, indexes and other data objects in SQL Server and PostgreSQL
• Monitor and optimize database performance, including query tuning, indexing strategies, and resource utilization
• Work closely with application developers to understand data requirements and deliver appropriate solutions
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for data-related issues

Required Qualifications:

• 3-5 years of data engineering experience using PostgreSQL and/or MS SQL Server
• Security+ certification or higher
• Active Secret Clearance or Interim
• Proficiency in MS SQL Server and/or PostgreSQL, including database design, query optimization and performance tuning

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, etc) and their data services is a plus
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, IaaS, PaaS
• Experience with .NET (ASP.NET and C#)
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Strong communication skills
• Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality data solutions
