Join our team at ROM and consider a fulfilling career as a Digitization Assistant.POSITION SUMMARY:This project-specific role is digitally capturing label data from thousands of Ladybird Beetle specimens in the ROM's entomology collection. Information supporting conservation efforts will be uploaded to online platforms like Canadensys, the Global Biodiversity Information Facility (GBIF), and ROM Collections. This project involves imaging specimen labels for public participation through the Notes from Nature platform.
RESPONSIBILITIES:- Capture high-quality images of Ladybird Beetle specimen labels, adhering to the imaging standards provided by the Specialist/Technician for insects and Arachnids.
- Ensure appropriate views, magnification, and lighting are applied to each specimen to achieve the best 3D imaging outcome.
- Maintain consistent progress and quality by following guidance and feedback from the Specialist/Technician.
QUALIFICATIONS:- Concurrent enrollment in or completion of a 4-year Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- Minimum of one (1) year but less than two (2) years of experience handling entomological specimens.
- Attention to detail and ability to handle delicate specimens with care.
