Location :Cumbernauld, Middlebrook or Milton Keynes - Hybrid (some travel required)

Reports to: Head of People Operations

What we’re looking for…

The People Operations and Policy Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily activities of the People Operations team, which includes payroll, people administration, and employee relations - your developed experience in these areas will be really critical to succeed.

An opportunity to oversee the development, implementation, and maintenance of HR policies you will ensure that People Function processes are efficient, compliant, and aligned with the company's strategic goals.

You will work closely with the Head of People Operations to support organisational objectives and enhance the overall colleague experience throughout the life cycle - so demonstrable stakeholder management is required to deliver effective service to colleagues across the business,

A people leadership role you will bring your leadership experience as you support the People Co-coordinator team and ensure delivery of an efficient service to our colleagues.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Oversee and optimise daily operations of the People Department to ensure efficient and effective processes
  • Lead the timely and accurate delivery of payroll through effective processes within the team
  • Manage employee records and databases, ensuring accuracy and compliance with data protection regulations
  • Supervise the People Operations team, providing guidance and support to ensure high performance
  • Develop, implement, and maintain people policies and procedures in accordance with legal requirements and best practices
  • Lead a team of Advisors on People Policy management and development to ensure their ongoing effectiveness
  • Communicate policy changes to colleagues and ensure understanding and compliance across the business
  • Lead a team that supports leaders and colleagues on People Department matters, including policies, benefits, and employee relations issues
  • Prepare and present regular reports on People Department metrics, policy compliance, and operational efficiency
  • Manage tracking and reporting of business KPIs as required for business performance
  • Utilise data analytics to identify trends and inform strategic decisions within the People Department
  • Lead change programs and participate in People projects and initiatives, ensuring timely and successful completion
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive People Department-related projects and initiatives

What you will bring:

  • Proven experience in People Operations and policy management.
  • In-depth knowledge of People policies, employment laws, and regulations.
  • Experience in leading a payroll function
  • Proficiency in systems and applications
  • Experience in leading Employee Relations activities and case management
  • Developed organisational and multitasking abilities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
