Subject Matter Expert Curriculum Developer
As a curriculum developer and subject matter expert, you are responsible for creating, editing, testing, and updating curriculum content in your respective discipline, to be delivered in various learning/training methods, including blended (hybrid), distance, mobile, self-paced, micro-, ILT, and VILT. In addition, you are responsible for creating video lectures, hands-on demo videos, interactive activities and scenario-based activities, for use in our proprietary LMS.
This is a remote contractor position. Candidates must live in the United States and be legally authorized to work. Unfortunately we are not able to provide sponsorship now or in the future.
Responsibilities
- Develop original curriculum content, videos, graphics, quizzes, and other content for eLearning and eLearning resources.
- Proofread, edit, and standardize deliverables according to internal style guide.
- Strong understanding of adult learning principles and ADDIE model.
- Integrate technology and innovative teaching methods into curriculum.
- Evaluate and revise curriculum materials based on feedback and assessment data.
- Create course outlines, syllabi, lesson plans, assessments and evaluation tools key.
- Assess and evaluate course effectiveness.
- Continuously improve and update curriculum content based on feedback and assessments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop comprehensive and engaging learning materials in your discipline, including lesson plans, instructional guides, instructor resources, and student resources.
- Stay up to date with the latest trends and advancements in your discipline to ensure curriculum content remains current and industry relevant.
- Tailor content to different learning styles, ensuring it is accessible and engaging for a diverse audience.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of course materials, incorporating feedback from students, faculty, employers, clients, etc.
- Participate in and contribute to curriculum meetings.
Technical Skills:
- Experience utilizing GitHub is a plus
- Experience working in Jira is a plus
- Proficient with training and video creation tools such as Camtasia, Adobe Creative Cloud, Adobe Photo Shop, and Synthesia.
- Strong technical acumen with the ability to translate technical concepts into learning material.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in subject matter discipline (or related field) preferred.
- Associates degree in subject matter discipline (or related field) considered.
- Proven experience in content creation, writing, or educational material development, in the subject matter discipline.
- Strong understanding of subject matter discipline concepts, practices, and industry standards.
- Excellent writing and communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information in an accessible and engaging manner.
- The ability to work under tight deadlines and manage frequently shifting priorities is a must.
- Commitment to creating inclusive and student-centered learning materials.
