The primary purpose of the Program Manager role is to partner with others to provide leadership and direction to ensure execution of strategic and complex programs within and across our client, PIH Health in Whittier, CA. The Program Manager will be responsible for facilitating program completion on time to plan in order to meet customer needs and business objectives.
Responsibilities
- Support Altera Digital Health and PIH Health by providing program management and leadership on key initiatives, usually pertaining to developing and delivering solutions to market or to internal process improvement.
- Partner with Solution Owners or Segment leaders to review program management need on projects, assess impacts on other projects, assign project managers to projects within the program and/or provide consultative services if more appropriate.
- Manage large scale / priority program. Ensure adherence to approved standard processes.
- Provide a platform for communication and relationship management -- engage stakeholders for buy-in, relieve bottlenecks & complexity.
- Ensure there is performance monitoring, information and reporting; help diagnose root cause of problems.
- Identify and escalate critical issues in timely manner.
- Alert stakeholders to potential scheduling risks, anticipated slippage, and take pre-emptive action to mitigate.
- Provide logistical & decision support for governance structure, including metrics and monthly meeting cadence on strategy and operations reviews.
- Provide coaching to the business in:
- KPI methodology and best practices
- Process improvement best practices
- Coordinate and provide coaching/training for Program Managers and / or Project Managers, to help develop team competencies, and to ensure programs are appropriately executing business strategy
- Identify and recruit internal/external talents to ensure effective mix of competencies.
- Induct new team members in order to quickly maximize performance.
- Set and communicate team/individual objectives and KPI to inspire individuals to achieve high performance.
- Allocate workload to fully utilize every employee's talent.
- Provide regular constructive feedback on performance/development and address poor/mediocre performance on a timely manner.
- Recognize high performers to maintain motivation and retain key talent.
- Regularly communicate on company news and team progress against business plan.
- Create team spirit.
- Raise concerns timely to senior leadership regarding mismatch on required project team member's competencies
- Allocate workload to fully utilize every program team member's talent
Qualifications
Academic and Professional Qualifications:
- PMP Certification required
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent business experience required
- ITIL and IT certifications preferred
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years relevant project management experience and typically has 5+ years relevant business experience
- Demonstrated experience in managing multiple concurrent projects, and ability to define work breakdown on complex projects
- Strong and demonstrable project management skills, including influencing, communications and tracking skills, and planning and organization.
- In-depth knowledge of project & program management methodologies, tools & techniques
- Solid leadership, organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate with individual contributors and business leaders to define business process issues, analyze operational efficiencies, implement creative solutions, and measure delivery results.
- Strong conviction in the role of program management and willingness to take on challenges.
- Solid understanding of corporate environment and business metrics, with ability to propose solutions for their achievement.

Salary Range
$109,955—$148,000 USD
