The Purpose:

We’re seeking an experienced Payments BDM to join our Merchant Sales team for a 12-month max term contract role.

As the BDM for Merchant Sales, you will be responsible for:

  • Growing transactions and revenues with Card Present / Not Present merchants & small business segment.
  • Managing and growing strategic Merchant partnerships which supports their business objectives and achieves AP+ business goals.
  • Collaboratively understand each Merchant’s strategy, their needs and driving greater strategic alignment against these needs.
  • Packaging and selling the AP+ suite of products and developing propositions to drive adoption of these products.
  • Leading and negotiating commercial agreements that meet both AP+ and Merchant needs.
  • Development of strategic account plans with key customers.

In order for you to be successful in the role, you’ll have:

  • Payments Sales experience, preferably in a Merchant facing capacity.
  • Extensive experience in building and enhancing strategic relationships.
  • The tenacity to operate in a fast-changing environment.
  • Well-honed commercial aptitude.
  • Exceptional negotiation skills (commercial and contractual).
  • The ability to identify and define problems for customers and working collaboratively to find solutions.
  • A hunger to drive opportunity and growth.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication – ability to tailor messaging per audience.
