Job purpose

Janes is looking for a highly motivated entry-level professional to join our Finance team as a Finance Assistant. In this role, you will provide essential support to our Financial Operations, with a focus on Order to Cash processes, while also assisting our Financial Reporting team with management and statutory reporting. This position offers a unique opportunity for a driven individual to embark on a long-term career in Finance, gaining valuable exposure to the full spectrum of Finance department activities.

How you will contribute at Janes

  • Supporting Order Management to review orders, highlight errors, gaps and discrepancies and collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve.
  • Assisting Accounts Receivable and Credit Control team with managing queries, analysing customer ledgers, providing statements and reconciling payments.
  • Performing bank and credit card reconciliations
  • Owning the accounting review of expense reimbursements
  • Calculating and inputting journals into ERP system (NetSuite), retaining supporting documentation including liaising with relevant stakeholders to obtain support
  • Assisting with balance sheet reconciliations, spotting discrepancies and identifying solutions/corrections
  • Preparing intragroup recharge invoices and reconciling closing balances
  • Helping manage group audit requirements including assisting in preparation of financial statements and responding to audit queries/sampling across financial operations and financial reporting teams

Requirements

  • Detail and target focused – a natural problem solver
  • Driven and well organised – able to work to tight and competing deadlines
  • Strong communication skills – confidence to liaise across functions and engage with customers, suppliers and other stakeholders
  • Good working knowledge of standard work software (Word, Excel), ideally with some experience on CRM/ERP systems (preferably Salesforce/NetSuite)
  • Experience working in a finance role or studying for a finance related qualification would be preferred, although strong academic background with plans to study for professional qualification are welcome too.
