The Austin site consists of 2.76 million square feet and more than 600+ acres in land holdings.  Samsung Austin Semiconductor’s economic impact in 2023 generated $15 billion into Austin’s economy through salaries and other expenditures.

 

In 2021, Samsung announced a new facility in Taylor, Texas, where it plans to invest a minimum $17 billion in the build-out. The site spans 1,200+ acres and the first phase of development will have 4.7 million square feet of floor space consisting of a cluster of semiconductor manufacturing buildings such as a fab, office, parking garage, central utility building, and special utility supply facilities. The Taylor facility will boost the production of semiconductor solutions that will power next-generation technologies in areas like 5G, artificial intelligence (AI) and high performance computing.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Job Summary/Overview:

The Sr. Talent Business Partner is responsible for developing strategic HR initiatives and collaborating with department heads and managers to ensure the effective management of human resources within the organization. In this role, the partner is accountable for formulating partnerships across various HR functions, with a focus on delivering value-added services that align with the organization's business objectives and the needs of both management and employees. This is an individual contributor role sitting on-site at our Austin, TX location.

Specific Job Duties:

• Coach and advice managers and employees on various HR components that impact employee experience.
• Guide business leaders to successfully drive individual performance within their organization, addressing capability gaps and ensuring organizational effectiveness.
• Partner with the Center of Expertise, executing and communicating HR initiatives/programs, such as goals, engagement surveys, succession planning, talent calibration discussions, organizational changes, and employee development identification.
• Ensure operational excellence in talent reviews, workforce planning, talent analytics, headcount, and succession planning initiatives.
• Facilitate training for employees and managers on HR topics, ensuring strong understanding of legal requirements related to employee management.
• Lead critical projects for the business and HR, ensuring operational excellence and regulatory compliance.
• Analyze key trends in HR metrics, identifying areas of improvement and leading data-driven decision-making for HR programs and practices.
• Partner with the legal department to maintain compliance with legal requirement and mitigate risks associated with employee management.

1st Shift: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm Onsite

Skills and Qualifications:

Education, Training, Certification(s) and Minimum years of experience required

• Minimum 4 years as an HRBP
• Additional HR experience preferred (HR Generalist, Manager, Strategist, or Employee Relations)
• Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Industrial or Labor Relations or other related field.
• PHR, SHRM-CP certification preferred
• Strong knowledge of local and federal employment law (including FMLA, ADA, etc.)
• Experience in high-volume manufacturing facility or semiconductor industry preferred

• Strong consultative, problem-solving, critical/analytical thinking skills
• Experience advising managers through complex employee issues and solving workforce challenges
• Ability to work in fast-paced, rapidly changing environment
• Ability to effectively manage ambiguity and aggressive project timelines
• Ability to adjust to multiple demands and shifting priorities, accepting responsibility for results of actions
• Ability to effectively project manage, meet deadlines and commitments
• Excellent communication (written and verbal) and organizational consulting skills
• Experience building relationships at all levels of the organization
