<p><strong>The Central Interceptor is a wastewater tunnel that runs between the Mangere Wastewater Treatment Plant and Grey Lynn. The 14.7-kilometre-long tunnel will run between 15 and 110 metres below ground. It will cross the Manukau Harbour at about 15 metres under the seabed. Along the route, it will connect to the existing wastewater network, diverting flows and overflows into the tunnel.</strong></p><p>In this role, you will manage and operate the grouting systems associated with the Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM). Your expertise will ensure the structural integrity and safety of our tunneling projects.</p><p>A focus on health and safety is important so you will report all accidents, incidents, near misses, and any potential workplace hazards, taking no unreasonable risks, actions or inaction that may cause harm in the workplace while contributing to a healthy and safe environment for co-workers on-site, minimising and reporting any unsafe activities.</p><p><strong>What you will be doing:</strong></p><ul><li>Coordinating with ring building team and TBM operator.</li><li>Assisting with the daily work in the TBM. </li><li>Be aware of the daily programme and production requirements.</li><li>Ensure the site is always in a safe and tidy condition and wastage is minimised.</li><li>Ensure plant and equipment are used correctly and effectively; are inspected and maintained regularly and comply with the required plant and equipment certification and regulations.</li><li>Work closely with team members while ensuring your Supervisor is informed of project status and issues management.</li><li>Operate and maintain TBM grouting equipment.</li><li>Monitor grouting parameters and adjust as necessary to meet project specifications.</li><li>Collaborate with the TBM operation team to ensure proper grouting procedures.</li><li>Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of grouting equipment.</li><li>Troubleshoot and resolve any issues with the grouting system.</li><li>Maintain accurate records of grouting operations and report to the Tunnel Manager.</li><li>Ensure all safety protocols are followed during grouting operations.</li></ul><p><strong>The successful candidate will have:</strong></p><ul><li>Full Class 1 driver's Licence.</li><li>Minimum 3 years of experience working as part of a TBM crew and 1 year as a Specialist Grouter.</li><li>Construct Safe qualification essential.</li><li>Knowledge of basic electrical systems with relevant qualifications preferred.</li> <li>In-depth knowledge of TBM operations grouting techniques and grout mix designs.</li> <li>Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.</li> <li>Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.</li> <li>Excellent communication and teamwork skills.</li></ul><p>If you enjoy working as part of a great team and are looking for full-time employment with a company that offers a competitive hourly rate, excellent allowances, and full PPE, please apply online now!</p><p>We have one full-time fixed term until 30 June 2025 position available, based in Auckland, and the hourly rate ($35.00 - $43.50) is experience, skills, and qualifications dependent.</p><p>Minimum 40 hours a week between the hours of 7 am and 6 pm, Monday to Saturday until such time as required to work on a rostered shift pattern, in line with the programme demands of the project.</p><p>All successful applicants will be required to undertake a Ministry of Justice and pre-employment drug and medical checks.</p> •
