Assistant Pharmacy Manager/Pharmacy Technician

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in day-to-day operations at the dispensary, including, but not limited to, ordering stock, input and billing prescriptions, receiving order, preparing, and packaging prescriptions, and other weekly, monthly, or quarterly duties (i.e., Inventory management, pre-billing count, narcotic reconciliation, etc.) 
  • As delegated by the Pharmacy Manager, oversee, guide, and support the performance (accuracy, quality, timeliness) of specific process and members of the NKS Ottawa team.
  • Assist Pharmacy Manager in monitoring progress and performances of individuals and help make improvements to current process by training individuals on daily, weekly, and monthly activities. 
  • Assist in prioritizing and delegating tasks to ensure timely completion of work. 
  • Assist Pharmacy Manager in developing pharmacy policies and procedures. 
  • Assist in the hiring process and training new employees. 
  • Assist the team in maintaining clean and organized workspaces.
  • Ensure protocols and efficiencies from NKS Mississauga are in place.
  • Assist in providing solutions for patient or physician issues.
  • Collaborate with the One Points and sales team to assist converting new patients from the pending to commercial stage.  
  • Assist with other duties as delegated by the Pharmacy Manager. 

Knowledge and Skill Requirement:

  • 3-5 years of pharmacy experience is a must.
  • Excellent interpersonal, listening and communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Highly proficient in using technology including computers and software programs.
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, decision making, conflict resolution and critical thinking abilities.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks efficiently while providing quality patient care.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks performed.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and medication administration.
  • Knowledge of third-party adjudication processes.

Preferred:

  • Previous Kroll experience is an asset.
  • Bilingual (English and French).
  • Prior experience working in a specialty pharmacy.
