Job Title:  Business Development Manager

Department: Business Development

Reports To: Chief Business Development Officer

Location:  Remote – US Based Only

FLSA Status:  Salaried

Hours:  8:30 am to 5 pm EST – Business Hours

Salary Range: $70,000 to $90,000, depending on experience, bonus eligible

Job Summary:

 

Our Business Development Manager is responsibility for developing and managing a pipeline of partner organizations.  This role is responsibility for sales of our program to key organizations and companies which represents an important revenue stream for our business.  Additionally, this role is responsible for developing and closing complex partnerships with organizations that may include product purchases, affiliate relationships and/or other strategic exchanges of value.  Overall, we are looking for an experienced, energetic relationship-builder who can help us aggressively expand our B2B revenue streams.

 

The ideal candidate is expected to come with sales skills, complex deal-making experience, relationship management skills and a positive, can-do approach.  The candidate will deal with executives across multiple functions within iPEC as well as executives at our partner organizations.  As such, the ideal candidate is expected to have experience communicating with and influencing at the C-suite, as well as other decision-makers.

 

Essential Responsibilities:

  •  Develop and implement effective business development strategies to attract new clients and enter new markets.
  • Conduct market analysis to identify new opportunities for growth and expansion.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with potential clients, industry professionals, and business partners.
  • Lead negotiations and close business deals that promote sustained revenue. Develop and manage a deal pipeline focused on business and organization partners.
  • Be focused on building win-win partnerships with our strategic partners and prospects
  • Partner with our other teams including sales, marketing and academic affairs to create proposals that meet the needs of our strategic partners and help us meet our strategic objectives
  • Navigating different types of organizations to identify and reach the decision-maker(s) to create sustainable partnerships
  • Conduct high-level research to develop and deliver effective sales solutions
  • Monitor sales progress to ensure that corporate goals are being met
  • Be willing and able to actively manage prospects at all stages of funnel from lead through the first 12 months of the partnership.

 Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree with a focus in business, marketing or communications required
  • 5+ years of experience in sales, account management or business development preferable in the B2B space
  • Significant experience managing sales and deal pipelines while hitting or exceeding sales or revenue goals
  • Experience utilizing a CRM is a plus
