The Sr. Organizational Learning and Development Manager will support driving the design and delivery of the leadership curriculum, as well as providing oversight of key initiatives. The role will demonstrate the highest level of organizational design, instructional design and project management and facilitation skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitation and Planning - Serve as an internal advisor/facilitator to departmental stakeholders on the design, development, and delivery of training/organizational learning events including team building, conflict resolution, change management, and other organizational issues relevant to the business needs. Provide coaching to managers and staff as needed to ensure effective development. Consult and support the development of a multi-year learning strategy for Leadership Development.
- Curriculum Design / Course Creation - Provide strategic consultation, design and support institution-wide programming including performance management, employee engagement, and management/leadership development. Develops a consultative relationship with key stakeholders and conducts needs analyses, which articulate the current state, end state, and gap to which the development is targeted. Determines the proper blend of instructor- led, hands-on, and web- based training to be used; using innovative learning methodologies to reflect content, audience, and business needs. Design and implement leadership development programs to cultivate strong leadership skills at all levels of the organization and assist in designing developmental activities for high-potential employees to prepare them for future leadership roles.
- Measurement & Reporting - Continually evaluate the effectiveness of training by developing and implementing post- instruction evaluation tools and criteria, such as focus groups and classroom observations. Identify ways to improve tracking and reporting mechanisms to create more transparency around and hold managers/employees accountable for learning initiatives. Stay current with industry trends and best practices in talent management, learning and development, and performance management. Draw insights from talent management data (employee surveys, exit feedback, onboarding feedback, etc.) to further inform L&D strategy.
- Budgeting - Assists in supporting effective vendor relationships and their relevant use, including evaluating scopes of work, budget and expenses, as well as recommending and implementing changes to support learning objectives.
Qualifications
- 4 Year Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience (Business, Liberal Arts, I/O or Org Psychology – with practical rather than clinical HR or OD focus); Graduate degree preferred
- 10+ years’ related business experience in the following:
- Client based delivery of professional service-oriented results and solutions
- Consulting within corporate or business OD capacity
- Facilitation delivery including at an executive level
- Project and budget management
- Organizational learning design expertise – leadership development necessary
- Exposure to various coaching models
- Superior interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with clients at all levels
- Strategic thinker, strong analytical and critical thinking skills
- Highly effective communicator, demonstrating ability to partner and influence required
Licenses and Certifications, preferred:
- SHRM or CPTD
- Coaching Certification
- DiSC, CliftonStrengths, or similar tools
This position is based in our Reston, VA office and offers a flexible, hybrid work schedule.
The pay range for this role is $145,600 - $197,000.
The anticipated annual base salary range for this position is noted above, however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience. Verisign offers a discretionary bonus which is based on individual and company performance, and certain roles may be eligible for discretionary stock awards.
