As the Audio Director you will ensure the quality of the audio content and its integration as a gameplay element. You will also supervise audio production and make certain that it is in keeping with the game vision.

Responsibilities:

• Establish and document the technical and artistic audio direction based on the creative direction (using references from film and games);
• Communicate the audio vision to the internal and external teams and provide all necessary visual and audio documents, including briefs, SOWs and references needed;
• Identify technical audio needs for the project and work with design and engineering teams to develop plans for development;
• Set out the musical direction with the selected composers in collaboration with the creative director;
• Design and implement game audio both directly and by working in close collaboration with internal and external engineering teams; 
• Create and implement audio directly into the game;
• Assess project resource needs and budget for the audio group with the Production and Operations team
• Supervise the work of the internal and external audio teams from the artistic and technical perspectives.;
• Coach team members to foster their artistic and technical development so that they progress in their careers;
• Communicate and share knowledge and experiences with other directors (Art, Design, Cinematics, Narrative) and the technical leads

What you bring 

• A degree in music or audio or professional training in audio;
• Experience in audio production for video games;
• Delivery of multiple PC and Console (AAA preferred) games as part of a production team (mandatory);
• Experience with Unreal Engine preferred.
• Experience with industry-standard tools such as  WWISE and/or FMOD preferred.
• Computer science training an asset;
• Film or TV postproduction experience an asset;
• Ability to communicate a vision;
• Excellent sense of esthetics;
• Solid knowledge of studio audio equipment and the research process;
• Knowledge of the audio engines and outsourcing market
