At Uni Systems, we are working towards turning digital visions into reality. We are continuously growing and we are looking for a Data Architect to join our UniQue Brussels team!
The initiative is to prepare a Safety and Security Analytics (SSA) extended technical features that are being deployed to enable further project development.
What will you be bringing to the team?
- Contribute to and validate the data and systems architecture foreseen for the solution.
- Provide direct support to the project activities in the design, implementation and administration of the tools.
- Design, develop and implement data cleansing, data preparation or other type of data processing solutions.
- Follow up, coordinate and facilitate all data manipulation activities and initiatives in the course of the project and in the follow-up activities.
- Provide support and training on data manipulation and processing to the different stakeholders of the project.
- Contribute to the projects in data-related aspects delivering data modelling, interface definition, technical and functional documentation, etc.
- Support definition, design and use of the platform focusing on data sources efficient integration, storage, accessibility and processing, data transmissions, interfaces and data security.
- Participate in the analytics usage and test scenarios identification and investigation.
- Participate in the platform tool deployment, integration and administration.
- Identify, document and apply operational procedures for the use of the platform.
- Define and document technical specifications for the platform integration (interfaces, data models, etc.).
- Consider and map/apply on the platform the requirements and constraints from all stakeholders.
- Contribute to data and integration architecture and support future needs without significant rework for following releases and following eventual analytics evolution.
- Support the analysis and documentation priorities
- Direct support to the users of the platform facilitating their work while identifying and documenting potential improvements.
- Propose systems, components and/or services architecture COTS software products, standards; and/or to evaluate technical offers of contractors and other vendors;
- Make proposals for architecture and data governance.
- Provide technology and architectural guidance
- Design of the Analytics Data Models and Data processing/ Data flows, including potential integration of data from other systems.
- Produce and/or review documents. This includes both functional and technical, system and application architecture documents;
- Support development for implementation
- Escalate issues, in particular the ones with potential impacts on time or resources;
- Active participation in review of technical requirements and proposed solutions related to the Portal and COTS (among the others: Dataiku, Denodo, Superset, Jupyterlab and RStudio)
Requirements
What do you need to succeed in this position?
- University degree in a relevant field
- At least 13 years of IT experience,
- Minimum 4 years of experience should be specialized in design and implementation of IT systems
- Meaningful knowledge and practical experience:
- data architecture,
- large-scale and high-availability IT systems,
- Analytics,
- Big Data design patterns,
- data governance,
- service implementation patterns,
- distributed system design
- messaging layer.
- Able to make proposals for architecture and data governance
- Experience with Design of the Analytics Data Models and Data processing/ Data flows including potential integration of data from other institutions or from public data sets.
- Practical knowledge of the COTS (Dataiku, Denodo, Superset, Jupyterlab and RStudio) is an advantage
- Fluency in English, good command of French is an asset.
