Event Manager (Carlist.my)

Job Purpose:

Lead the planning and execution of Malaysia’s largest and most dynamic motor expos, shows, and events. Collaborate with internal teams, OEMs, dealerships, and external vendors to create innovative events and deliver industry-leading experiences that connect buyers and sellers, showcasing iCar Asia’s expertise in the automotive industry.

Job Description:

1. Event Strategy & Leadership:

• Shape the vision and growth of iCar Asia’s event business.

• Drive thought leadership within the company and the industry.

2. Event Planning & Management:

• Oversee event planning, venue selection, budgeting, and execution.

• Manage contractors for logistics, exhibition design, and on-site operations.

• Coordinate engaging event activities for diverse audiences.

3. Stakeholder Engagement:

• Build relationships with OEMs, sponsors, and industry players to secure partnerships.

• Liaise with exhibitors and partners on all event operation matters.

• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless execution.

4. Operational Excellence:

• Maintain financial and operational efficiency while adhering to budgets.

• Ensure all roles and responsibilities are clarified for smooth event delivery.

5. Event Day & Post-Event:

• Address on-site challenges and ensure a successful event experience.

• Gather feedback and insights to improve future events.

6. Innovation & Quality:

• Introduce creative concepts to keep events fresh and engaging.

• Build relationships with contractors, suppliers, and governmental bodies to maintain quality.

7. Undertake any other duties or projects that may be reasonably required by the Management or identified through proactive role engagement, and address issues promptly and efficiently.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Event Management or related field.
• Experience in the automotive or online media industry.
• Ability to thrive in fast-paced, high-pressure environments.
• Flexibility to work non-standard hours, including weekends.
• Own transport for client visits.
