TEAM
The Woven City Product Security Team ensures the cybersecurity of the Toyota Woven City project. Toyota Woven City will be a place for co-creation, for inventors and residents who share our value and passion to invent something new "for others". This introduces new security and privacy challenges. Imagine building a smart city from the ground up with a focus on security, privacy, and safety!

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR
We seek a Security Architect to promote industry best practices, support the engineering team, and the broader business. This individual will design and implement innovative security solutions tailored to our evolving city platform and product security landscape.

As a leader in the product security team, you will guide security engineers on best practices, from secure code development to risk mitigation, fostering a security-first culture. You will influence and inspire stakeholders to drive secure product development and address emerging security risks. This hybrid role requires onsite presence three days per week, reporting to an engineering manager.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead the implementation of industry best practices for security across Woven City’s hardware, software, and cloud ecosystems
  • Ensure the security and resilience of interconnected systems, acting as the primary expert for holistic system security
  • Propose security strategies and solutions tailored to evolving platform and product security needs
  • Collaborate with other teams to gather feedback, gain support, and implement security programs
  • Mentor engineers, providing expert advice and driving the adoption of secure development practices
  • Drive threat modeling and secure-by-design methodologies within the development process
  • Champion a security-first mindset throughout all product development phases, fostering a culture of security awareness
  • Provide executive-level reporting on security initiatives, risks, and progress to key stakeholders and leadership teams

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field, or 7+ years relevant work experience
  • Experience in the following areas; security engineering, system and network security, authentication and security protocols, cryptography, application security
  • Experience with secure architecture design
  • Experience with the application of threat modeling and architecting secure systems
  • Experience working with security standards such as ISO 26262, ISO 62443, NIST SP 800-53, NIST SP 800-171, and NIST SP 800-172

NICE TO HAVES:

  • Consulting or team leadership experience in security architecture or engineering
  • Security expertise in one or more of: C, C++, x86, ARM, wireless networks, cryptography, exploit development
  • Experience with IoT devices, embedded systems security, or penetration testing
  • Knowledge or experience of advanced smart fuzzing strategies: mutational, symbolic and American Fuzzy Lop (AFL)
  • Experience with Android or embedded operating systems (QNX, FreeRTOS, etc.)
  • Ability to communicate in Japanese is a plus
