Reporting to the Chief Product Officer the Sr Director of Merchandising is responsible for creating a product strategy that meets or exceeds sales volume and customer expectations for all selling channels while appropriately representing vision of the brand. This position takes a proactive approach in steering the merchandising journey from crafting seasonal line plan architecture to ensuring the final product execution aligns with the desired consumer on floor experience.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive product merchandising strategy utilizing a data driven approach to analyze customer behavior and develop consumer centric product strategies and experiences across all channels.
- Monitor market and internal trends to ensure the Good American merchandising strategy is competitive and consumer centric.
- Conduct market research to analyze and identify opportunities for growth and improvement in the product category portfolio.
- Maintain the integrity of key items/franchise through lifecycle management.
- Collaborate with cross functional teams, including design, marketing, production and sales to ensure alignment and consistency from product strategy to messaging and positioning.
- Continuously evaluate and improve processes and workflows to increase efficiency and productivity within the department.
- Provide merchant leadership and mentorship to foster a supportive, productive and highly collaborative team environment.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Minimum of 7-10 years of Merchandising experience.
- Possess a combination of strategic vision and operational know-how with a customer focused attitude.
- Must be able to work collaboratively with cross functional teams, while also having the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to Demonstrate excellent analytical skills a good understanding of omnichannel retail and wholesale business.
- Enterprise leadership with proven talent management, and development.
- Refined taste level and ability to forecast consumer trends.
Please note that this role requires to be onsite four days a week.
