About the role:
Do you have a genuine interest in working for an organisation tackling online harms - from violent extremism and gender-based violence to disinformation and child online exploitation? Do you have experience working in this sector or related sectors and want to develop further?
Moonshot is currently recruiting a manager with experience delivering work internationally. In this role, you will manage programmes involving research, capacity building and delivery of digital campaigns related to online harms. The successful candidate will have experience in building and maintaining relationships with foreign government representatives and delivering training to international partners. You will also be expected to work to advance our methodologies and support the strategic understanding of our clients.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing key relationships with international clients, partner organisations and other stakeholders.
- Designing and delivering capacity building for international partners.
- Overseeing the design, delivery, and optimization of online campaigns, including budget management.
- Developing and sharing subject matter expertise both internally in the organisation and externally as part of training.
- Overseeing analysis of diverse forms of data, including OSINT, social media metrics, and data gathered by our in-house specialist software.
- Developing new methodologies to improve understanding of violent extremism, misinformation, and other public safety issues.
- Managing projects, including ensuring delivery within agreed timeframes and budgets.
- Identifying and managing project risks.
- Leading a small to a medium-sized project team.
- Supporting our business development by identifying and applying for funding opportunities, building relationships with clients and partner organisations.
Requirements
Essential:
- Experience delivering programmes in international settings (including but not limited to humanitarian or development programmes).
- Relevant professional or research experience in online harms.
- Experience managing project teams and clients.
- Experience providing capacity building for international partners.
- Demonstrable ability to work under pressure, taking action and getting things done, both in managing your own workload and that of others.
- Inquisitiveness and adaptability, particularly in relation to new technology and the use of social media for research.
- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
- Willingness to occasionally work outside regular working hours in response to incidents and relevant events.
- Ability and willingness to travel internationally to deliver programme activities.
- In addition, we require and will check on candidates' eligibility to work in the UK and conduct DBS checks.
Desirable:
- Experience leading digital communications campaigns, and ideally across one or more of the following topics: social media analysis, monitoring and evaluation, capacity building, interventions.
- Professional knowledge of gender-based violence.
- Professional experience leading projects involving analysis and investigation using open-source research and OSINT methods.
- Demonstrable experience with digital marketing on traditional and emerging media and social media platforms.
