A day in the life (just a few of the things you may do on any given day):
- Write automation scripts using Python, Bash, or Golang to streamline manual tasks and enhance system efficiency.
- Collaborate with the development team to design and improve deployment pipelines, containerizing applications with Docker to optimize delivery.
- Jump into Ansible or Salt, creating or updating playbooks and Salt states to ensure smooth and consistent infrastructure management across all environments.
- Write Ansible playbooks to automate manual networking tasks, helping streamline and optimize network configuration and management, with a focus on software-defined networking (SDN) solutions.
- Work on automating virtual environments to make development and testing easier and faster for the broader engineering team.
- Troubleshoot production issues as they arise, collaborating with cross-functional teams to resolve them quickly and discuss ways to improve our CI/CD pipeline processes.
You will excel in this role if you (are):
- You have strong hands-on experience in Python, Bash, Docker, and Golang and are comfortable scripting and automating tasks.
- You’ve worked extensively with orchestration tools like Ansible or Salt, and have a knack for writing playbooks or Salt states to ensure smooth deployments.
- You’re familiar with software-defined networking (SDN) concepts and can help us leverage them to create more efficient network configurations.
- You have a passion for automating infrastructure and are experienced with virtual environment automation for development and testing.
- You thrive in environments where you're solving complex problems independently but also enjoy collaborating with teams to streamline processes.
- You bring a proactive mindset and constantly look for opportunities to improve existing workflows and infrastructure.
- Communication is your strong suit, and you’re able to explain complex technical issues to both technical and non-technical teams.
What we are expecting from you (i.e. the qualifications you must have):
- TS/SCI with Poly Needed
- Seven (7) years' experience as a SWE, in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field from an accredited college or university is required. Four (4) years of additional SWE experience on projects with similar software processes may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.
