Planned Parenthood of Northern New England is looking for a highly motivated, responsible, and outgoing person to build community, expand access to health care, and engage in our robust organizing efforts in New Hampshire. This is a full time, Hybrid- remote position. based in our Concord, NH est. 1-2x/week.
This field organizer will work to implement an exciting field plan that includes recruiting, training and developing volunteer leadership that supports the overall actions and goals of the state’s public affairs department.
CHARACTERISTIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Seek and develop opportunities to engage our communities in ways that will expand recruitment and build leadership
- Create and nurture community alliances and collaborations that promote community partnership
- Possess and grow a personal and professional commitment to and understanding of diversity, equity, inclusion and justice in the context of community and grassroots organizing
- Build relationships with strategic partners including BIPOC and LGBTQ led organizations and mission aligned advocacy groups
- Plan and implement events and projects including traditional canvasses, abortion stigma reducing deep canvassing, health center advocacy programs, storytelling cultivation, phone banks, community events, and recruitment opportunities
- Support policy work by activating community and volunteer networks to execute grassroots organizing tactics
- With the support of the Director of Communications, create social media postings for various PPNNE/AF properties
- Manage time affectively to accomplish campaign goals, develop timelines and benchmarks, and produce reports to tell the story of your progress
- Make decisions and using professional discretion and judgement in developing work plans and adjusting to new circumstances while publicly representing Planned Parenthood
- Utilize specialized skills and technical understanding for field organizing, which requires understanding of field organizing practices, use and application of various computer programs
- Develop volunteer leadership, including recruiting, motivating, cultivating and developing a team through side-by-side coaching and volunteer trainings
- Develop youth organizing teams and develop and support student organizations at local colleges/universities
- Accept assigned goals for specified regions in the state and be responsible for reaching those goals
- Actively participate in electoral campaigns, supporting the election of endorsed candidates, and ballot measures through coordinated or independent expenditure activities.
- Maintain volunteer and voter databases

- Solid written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills are critical for this position

- Must be passionate about reproductive rights and other progressive causes
- Inquisitive, curious, and a willingness to learn about our role in healthcare and politics

- A willingness to work flexible hours, including some evenings and occasional weekends
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree or a combination of education and experience
- Commitment to a team
- Computer literacy
- Experience working with volunteers
- Understanding of state’s political process
- Drivers license and access to a car
- Comfortable talking about all services PPNNE provides
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
- Compensation for this position is based on years of direct work experience. Candidates with 0-6 years of experience can expect to earn between $46,156.50 - $51,948/yr. As experience increases, so does the rate of pay, with candidates who have 17 or more years of direct experience earning up to $64,584/yr.
