POSITION OVERVIEW

Global Atlantic is currently searching for an Information Technology (IT) Controls Manager to join our high performing SOX team.  The IT Controls Manager will be strong team player who can work across the organization executing our Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) and Model Audit Rule (MAR) compliance requirements. This position works directly with IT and business process owners on the identification of SOX controls, including process redesign, policies, procedures, documentation, evidence evaluation, and system enhancements.

Candidates must be proactive team members with a value-added mindset, interacting with local and inter-office personnel to ensure an adequate framework of controls and procedures exist to maintain appropriate internal control over financial reporting. Position is located in our Des Moines, IA office working on a hybrid basis.

In particular, job responsibilities include:

  • Provide advisory services on the assessment of new business/activities, control framework buildouts and the design of controls
  • Perform annual SOX 404 process/compliance efforts (e.g. financial statement scoping, risk assessment, identifying significant accounts and critical processes)
  • Understand business and IT processes and the control environment considering generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and regulatory compliance for SOX and MAR 
  • Document SOX/MAR process and control activities via flowcharts, narratives, matrices and test scripts, etc.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline, increase automation and rationalize controls; making recommendations to improve the underlying process and controls
  • Collaborate with testers to ensure sufficient documentation and adequate design and operating effectiveness of controls
  • Execute and review the test of controls; summarizing and communicating the results/findings to key stakeholders
  • Liaise with the external auditors and proactively coordinate the SOX audit
  • Monitor process and system changes that result from our growth in transaction volume and automation of processes
  • Participate in additional special projects and initiatives as required
  • Build strong relationships with SOX/MAR process owners and control performers, Internal audit team, and external auditors
  • Coordinate and evaluate SOC Reports from Third Party Service Providers

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant major and 5 or more years in IT Audit, public accounting and/or private industry experience
  • Strong IT technical knowledge and risk assessment/audit skills in Cloud, Infrastructure and Financial Applications
  • Clear understanding of IT audit methodologies
  • Ability to operate independently and as part of a larger functional team
  • Strong analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills, with strong attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, collaboration, and time management skills

Various jurisdictions have passed pay transparency laws that require companies provide salary ranges for any positions for which they are accepting applications. Global Atlantic has offices in Atlanta, Batesville, Bermuda, Boston, Des Moines, Hartford, Indianapolis, and New York City. The base salary range posted below is inclusive of the lowest cost of living geography to the highest in which we have a Global Atlantic office. 

Global Atlantic’s base salary range is determined through an analysis of similar positions in the external labor market. Base pay is just one component of Global Atlantic’s total compensation package for employees and at times we hire outside the boundaries of the salary range. Other rewards may include annual cash bonuses, long-term incentives (equity), generous benefits (including immediate vesting on employee contributions to a 401(k), as well as a company match on your contributions), and sales incentives.  Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. Compensation for our more senior positions have a larger component of short-term cash bonus and long-term incentives. 

The base salary range for this role is
$95,000$180,500 USD

Global Atlantic reserves the right to modify the qualifications and requirements for this position to accommodate business needs and regulatory changes.  Future adjustments may include obtaining specific licenses or certifications to comply with operational needs and conform to applicable industry-specific regulatory requirements, state and federal laws.
