Description

CNIB invites you to build a career as unique as you are! We are currently searching for a Lead, Privacy, Risk & Legal Services. Reporting to the Director, Privacy, Risk & Legal Services and Chief Privacy Officer, the successful candidate will directly support the development and ongoing coordination of privacy, enterprise risk, and legal services management systems, processes and policies that support responsible decision-making, foster a culture of risk awareness and stewardship, and drive compliance. As a Lead, Privacy, Risk & Legal Services, you will support key projects that relate to legal compliance or business strategy and play a vital role in contributing to processes and practices to improve the day-to-day efficiency and effectiveness.

Your impact at CNIB

  • Respond to privacy queries from employees, donors, volunteers, participants or other third parties.
  • Lead privacy incident investigations and remediation efforts.
  • Create and administer training programs on privacy, risk, and cyber security.
  • Maintain accurate tracking of reported privacy incidents, access, and correction requests to support organizational reporting requirements.
  • Research, actively monitor and report changes in legal and regulatory privacy landscape that might impact the organization or its entities and participate in identifying enhancements and efficiencies.
  • Promote an effective privacy compliance culture, including awareness and contribute to identifying, assessing, and managing privacy risks.
  • Lead special projects to support Enterprise Risk Management, including risk assessments, policy and documentation reviews, support to accreditation processes, and such initiatives.
  • Coordinate quarterly enterprise risk reporting processes, track key risk indicators, and compile results into reports for senior management analysis.
  • Support business units with the identification, evaluation, understanding, management, and communication of significant business risks.
  • Promote an effect risk management culture, by building risk awareness amongst staff by supporting business units.
  • Support the development of risk processes, policies, tools, and training.
  • Provide support with internal legal inquiries, projects, and cases.
  • Support the development, implementation, and day to day oversight of the legal and contract administration function.
  • Review and provide feedback and recommendations on contracts as required.
  • Create and maintain contract repository.
  • Assist with rolling out and delivering training on new systems and legal function tools to streamline new or existing practices.

Requirements

Who you are

  • A strong relationship-builder, excited to work alongside business leaders, key stakeholders, and engage learners.
  • You must be able to adapt to changing priorities and business needs and must be proactive in identifying areas of need and generating action plans.
  • An excellent communicator (both written and verbal) with the ability to motivate, influence, and collaborate with all levels of staff.

We want to hear from you if you have:

  • University graduate in law or business administration, or an equivalent combination of education, training and expertise.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in business administration, privacy compliance, risk management, or another related field.
  • Working knowledge of enterprise risk management concepts, methods and systems.
  • Working knowledge of the Canadian legal system, legal concepts, and specific legislation and regulations driving organizational compliance needs.
  • Ability to conduct legal and policy research and related analysis, and communicate findings in clear, non-technical language.
  • Ability to plan, manage and evaluate multiple complex initiatives and/or projects, typically involving input from internal and external contracts.
  • Attention to detail; comfortable working under deadlines and multitasking to deliver key deliverables.
  • Third party risk management evaluation and change management.
  • Demonstrated computer skills and competence with standard computer tools associated with business, marketing and project management.
  • Exceptional organizational and execution skills.
  • Flexible mindset, and comfort with ambiguity and evolving priorities.
  • Ability to speak French is an asset.
