TEAM
Woven by Toyota develops, implements, and scales human-centered automated driving solutions for personal and commercial use. We are responsible for developing perception technologies and its production software for the AD/ADAS system. To realize a fully reliable and highly functional system, we are solving complex real-world problems utilizing large-scale data, machine learning algorithms, and a variety of perception technologies.
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR
The ideal candidate is self-motivated to find solutions to complex real-world problems, and makes an impact while contributing to a cross-functional team. You will combine cutting-edge technologies with robust safety standards while also considering cost efficiency. Also, you have patience to tackle the processes required for production development and approach them by asking "What can I do for you?" with a "Giver" mindset.
This position is hybrid, requiring your presence on site three days per week where you will report to an Engineering Manager.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Serve as a technical manager to lead and facilitate AD/ADAS products (POV, MaaS) for perception and prediction development
- Define the product roadmap & product realization (including features definitions, data-driven product performance KPIs, production release, reporting, internal and competition benchmarking, etc.) according to our strategy and timeline
- Lead the team of perception development program, leveraging technical and managerial skills to deliver high-impact results while managing timelines, resources and any other conflicts that arise
- Coordinate cross-functional initiatives with other teams (Platform, Data, Application Platform, Vehicle Engineering and other function teams)
- Lead development operation activities (e.g. increase of development efficiency and effectiveness, enhance collaboration and overall QCD (quality, cost, delivery)
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- 5+ years of experience in AD/ADAS development and production, with a focus on perception systems
- Demonstrated success in developing and managing complex technical roadmaps for automotive systems
- Proven track record in end-to-end program management, from conception to post-implementation
- Experience in risk management and process improvement across multiple teams
- Leadership experience in a technical environment
- Customer-facing experience
- Business-level proficiency in English and Japanese
NICE TO HAVES:
- Good foundations in computer vision and deep learning
- Experience with automotive sensors, such as Camera, Lidar, Radar, etc.
- Experience in software architecture, design, integration, testing and related methodologies
- Experience in coordination of international and virtual teams
- Experience with Python, C++, and software engineering best practices
