Job Summary: An Inside Skip Tracer specializing in vehicle location is responsible for locating and tracking vehicles that are difficult to find or have been hidden to avoid repossession, collections, or legal action. This role primarily involves using databases, digital tools, and investigative techniques to identify the location of vehicles for recovery or legal purposes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Vehicle Tracking: Use various tracking tools and databases to locate vehicles that are either overdue for payment, involved in legal disputes, or part of asset recovery efforts.
- Database Research: Utilize vehicle-specific databases (e.g., VIN databases, license plate lookups), GPS tracking, and public records to trace the vehicle's location.
- Monitor Leads: Follow up on leads provided by clients, law enforcement, or other sources regarding the potential location of vehicles.
- Data Verification: Cross-check vehicle data, such as registration, insurance, and leasing records, to verify the accuracy of information and identify potential discrepancies.
- Coordinate with Recovery Agents: Collaborate with field agents or tow companies to facilitate vehicle repossession or legal seizure.
- Vehicle History Checks: Perform background checks on vehicles, including tracking ownership history, past registrations, and possible liens or financial obligations attached to the vehicle.
- Legal and Compliance Awareness: Ensure that all skip tracing and recovery efforts are conducted within the legal and ethical frameworks, especially regarding privacy and repossession laws.
- Reporting and Documentation: Maintain detailed records of all searches, discoveries, and interactions related to the vehicle's location. Provide reports to clients or senior management.
- Communication with Clients: Update clients on the status of vehicle location and recovery efforts, providing progress reports as needed.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Vehicle Knowledge: Understanding of vehicle identification systems (VIN, license plate numbers) and how to access vehicle-related records.
- Investigative Skills: Proficiency in using skip tracing tools, digital resources, and investigative databases to gather vehicle location data.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to spot discrepancies or hidden data points that could indicate the location of a vehicle.
- Tech-Savvy: Familiarity with advanced vehicle tracking technologies, GPS systems, and relevant software (e.g., for vehicle registration checks).
- Communication Skills: Strong ability to report findings to clients or management clearly and accurately.
- Problem-Solving: Creative thinking and persistence when tracking down hidden or evasive vehicles.
- Knowledge of Laws: Understanding of repossession, asset recovery, and privacy laws that pertain to vehicle tracking and recovery.
- Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple cases and track numerous vehicles simultaneously.
PAY : $24/hr + bonus based on performance
