CNS Fall/2023 Graduate Research Assistant for Education (AY 23-24 C91155)

CNS Education Program GRA will work with CNS Education Project staff members to help coordinate Education Program-related activities including:

• the Critical Issues Forum http://sites.miis.edu/criticalissuesforum/ (nonproliferation and disarmament education project for high school students),
• Summer Undergraduate Internship Program https://sites.miis.edu/summerintern/,
• CNS visiting fellows program, and other education project-related activities.

This position is mainly administrative and logistical work with a possible research activity on nonproliferation and disarmament education. Experience in major Social Media platforms, especially Instagram, WordPress, CANVA, and basic video editing skills is highly desirable.

We are looking for GRAs who can actively reach out to younger generations (mainly high school students) for disarmament and nonproliferation education!!

Requirements

• excellent writing, editing, and researching skills in English;
• excellent coordinating and organizing skills;
• proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel,
• experience in blogging (WordPress, etc.)
• experience in major social media platforms (CANVA, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Google Sites, etc.)

While not required, the following qualifications are highly desirable

• experience in K-12 education (teaching and curriculum development);
• Familiarity with US education system both public and private (high school)
• experience in coordinating events;
• experience with HTML, movie makers and other software;
• experience in video editing
• interest in disarmament and nonproliferation of WMD
• Passionate about youth education

As a GRA, you will acquire on-the-job training with CNS experts and other leading scholars on nonproliferation issues. While contributing to ongoing projects GRAs are also allowed to pursue their own research in related fields. Starting wage is negotiated based on the student's experience. The position is renewable contingent upon satisfactory academic progress and job performance.
