Production Manager

We are currently seeking an Production Manager to join an extremely reputable, family-run SME based in Norwich.

This is an exciting opportunity for either a Production Manager looking to grow into an Operations Manager role OR an Operations Manager with a hands on attitude. As a Production Manager you will take on responsibility of managing the Order - delivery element of our clients projects from the Rackheath Factory. This will mean managing all elements from point of order through design and manufacture to delivery. This role would be 5 days per week in the office/factory with some time on sites to review delivery and assembly methods to further enhance efficiencies.

Key duties and responsibilities....

• Manage health and safety in the factory

• Total responsibility for ensuring the projects are manufactured on budget and delivered to site on time and in full

• Managing factory operatives (only 2 others currently)
• Managing other ops departments to ensure timely delivery (design and procurement)
• Operational recruitment as required
• Introduce operational efficiencies
• Utilise experience within the industry to provide more capable manufacturing ie. bespoke but systemised
• Deal with customers and internal contracts manager to agree delivery dates and strategies as these vary by project
• Working in the factory with others to ensure items are despatched on time and in full
• Producing fabrication schedules managing full kit
• Finalising and signing off production assembly, packaging and delivery methods for each project
• Creating CNC programmes as necessary for bespoke works

Requirements

• Commercially astute
• Good eye for quality and detail
• Experience in laminate panel industry / transferrable industry (bespoke joinery / furniture / raw materials)
• CNC / CAD / CAM Design experience
• Practical ability / hands on
• Adaptable to change
• Proven track record in operational management
• Lean / Sigma / TOC
• Good IT / Excel
• Forklift license/ability to obtain
• Bespoke joinery experience ideal

Hours - Monday - Friday 7.30am - 4pm (with a degree of flexibility)
