The role:

The Academy Experience Manager will manage and communicate and execute all continuing/advanced education to licensed cosmetologists in the Kao Salon Academy.  The role is responsible for all operational activities for Academy events. This role is customer facing in terms of being the face of the Academy for all artists and attendees.

**this is an on site position including working Sundays**

What you will do:

  • Execute all operational planning, set up, tear down, and day of coordination/follow up for Kao Salon Academy programs, custom events, and on-site company meetings.
  • Ensures that the programs meet Kao Academy Standards for the ultimate experience for attendees of program. 
  • Oversee Academy inventories and organization associated with Academy programs.
  • Forecasts, orders and maintains all appropriate literature, equipment and supplies of Academy.
  • Manage day to day activity of the Academy including vendor supplies, catering and deliveries from vendors for events.
  • Responsible for AV equipment maintenance reporting for repairs and needs. 
  • Collaborate with Sr. Academy Manager to manage curriculum and content for Academy programs.
  • Collaborate with Sr. Academy Manager on training of Academy staff to ensure standardization of Kao Salon teaching/facilitating standards are met, sharing any feedback with the Sr. Academy Manager.

What you will need:

  • Minimum of 2-3 years experience in professional salon industry. 
  • High school diploma or GED required 
  • Strong project management/coordination skills are required.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to negotiate and influence effectively.
  • Requires a working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook with the ability to create, update and properly format business correspondence, reports, charts graphs, table and presentations.
  • Working knowledge of show event AV equipment and building management.
  • Requires strong coordination with the ability to coordinate and oversee groups of 5 to 75 attendees.
  • Ability to develop and maintain solid relationships. 
  • Position requires working weekends and evenings, as dictated by Academy events calendar.
  • Position may require up to 10% travel domestically

A reasonable salary range is:  $65,000 - $85,000.
