Position Description:
Improvix Technologies, Inc., a mid-sized government contractor located in Reston, Virginia, is actively seeking an exceptional Chief Operating Officer (COO). Improvix is at the forefront of substantial growth and strategic evolution and is searching for the right leader to help with our transformation. In partnership with our CEO, this COO will bring a tactical and operational depth to the team. This role demands a leader who excels in managing complex operational challenges, is proficient in navigating conflicts with a collaborative spirit, and can preserve and nurture our company’s positive culture using expert change-management skills as the organization transforms.
The COO's primary responsibilities include overseeing our daily operations and service delivery, ensuring excellence and efficiency in all projects, as well as Business Development and growth. They will spearhead the strategic transition from small business set-aside contracts to competitive full and open contract pursuits.
Ideal candidates will have a proven track record in large-scale program delivery, corporate operations, and business development, demonstrating the ability to lead a company through growth phases, with a keen understanding of the nuances of the Department of State, Department of Justice, and Homeland Security, as well as other federal agencies. Additionally, the ideal candidate will have experience providing information technology services, particularly in Application Services, Data & Analytics, Cloud & Infrastructure, and Cybersecurity.
Skills, Qualifications & Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, or related field; Master’s Degree and/or MBA, preferred.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in leadership roles, with a focus on government contracting and technology.
• Experience leading all stages of business development from capture, to developing win-themes, to leading winning proposals.
• Proven track record of driving business growth, profitability, and operational excellence.
• Strong understanding of government contracting regulations, processes/deliverables, and achieving positive performance reviews and CPARs.
• Strategic thinker with the ability to translate vision into actionable plans and initiatives.
• Results-oriented mindset with a commitment to delivering exceptional outcomes for clients and stakeholders.
