The Business Data Science team at Figma collaborates closely with the sales, marketing, and finance departments to extract actionable insights, guide decision-making processes, and apply a data-driven approach to pivotal business challenges crucial for Figma’s expansion. The role entails engaging with a diverse and dynamic set of tasks. As a team member, you will tackle various technical challenges spanning data engineering, analytics, experimentation, and machine learning. We are actively seeking data scientists with a solid foundation in coding and statistics, demonstrating proficiency in effective communication across both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

This full-time role is available at one of our US hubs. 

What you'll do at Figma:

  • Engage proactively with Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Engineering teams to translate business inquiries into well-defined data problems, fostering cross-functional collaboration
  • Evaluate experiments to measure the impact of new initiatives
  • Define and present key metrics essential for informed decision-making, ensuring a clear and actionable data-driven framework
  • Communicate and document data logging processes and requirements, ensuring transparent and standardized practices within the team
  • Develop models aimed at comprehending user behavior and predicting growth patterns, contributing to data-driven strategies for business expansion
  • Offer constructive and thoughtful feedback to team members, fostering a collaborative environment that encourages continuous improvement

We’d love to hear from you if you have:

  • Solid foundational knowledge in Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Economics, or a related quantitative field
  • Demonstrated proficiency in R, Python, or a comparable scripting language
  • Robust understanding of statistical methods and models
  • Demonstrated self-starting initiative combined with strong communication and collaboration skills

Pay Transparency Disclosure

If based in Figma’s San Francisco or New York hub offices, this role has the annual base salary range stated below.  

Job level and actual compensation will be decided based on factors including, but not limited to, individual qualifications objectively assessed during the interview process (including skills and prior relevant experience, potential impact, and scope of role), market demands, and specific work location. The listed range is a guideline, and the range for this role may be modified. For roles that are available to be filled remotely, the pay range is localized according to employee work location by a factor of between 80% and 100% of range. Please discuss your specific work location with your recruiter for more information.

Annual Base Salary Range (SF/NY Hub):
$140,000$140,000 USD
