We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Provider Relations Specialist to join our team. You will serve as a continuous point of contact for our healthcare providers after they have completed the onboarding process. You will guide providers through any challenges, addressing questions, and resolving issues to ensure their satisfaction and seamless operation within our network. You will receive a warm handoff from the Provider Engagement/Onboarding Specialist and will be responsible for maintaining strong, ongoing relationships with providers in your assigned region.
How you will make an impact
- Serve as the primary point of contact for providers in your assigned region after they are fully onboarded.
- Address and resolve any challenges, questions, or issues providers may encounter.
- Ensure providers are fully supported and their needs are met promptly and effectively.
- Build and maintain strong, positive relationships with providers.
- Facilitate clear and open communication between providers and the organization.
- Regularly check in with providers to gather feedback and ensure their satisfaction.
- Troubleshoot and resolve provider issues, coordinating with internal departments as needed.
- Escalate complex issues to the Provider Relations Lead or other appropriate parties when necessary.
- Track and document provider interactions and issues to ensure timely follow-up and resolution.
- Collaborate with the Provider Engagement/Onboarding Specialist to ensure a smooth transition and handoff.
- Work closely with internal teams to address provider-related matters efficiently.
- Keep accurate records of provider interactions and maintain a detailed log of issues and resolutions.
- Identify opportunities to improve the provider experience and streamline processes.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of best practices for provider relations.
What we are looking for
- Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in provider relations, customer service, or a related role in the healthcare industry.
- Extensive experience and well-established relationships with healthcare providers in Michigan.
- Strong understanding of healthcare provider operations and challenges.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with providers and internal teams.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and relevant healthcare software.
- Travel Requirement: This role requires the ability to travel to provider locations on a monthly basis (approximately 20-30% travel). The successful candidate will engage with providers in person to maintain strong relationships, oversee network operations, and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
