Being on the frontline of our Sales Development Team, you’ll be responsible for creating that all-important human first impression that kick-starts our sales process.

Your job will be to connect with, nurture and re-engage all Australian and New Zealand businesses in this space who have either started a free 14 day trial, downloaded content or may have shown interest in the past. Before these prospects are passed on to our team of Account Execs we need to first connect with them, make sure Timely will be a good fit for them, and get them excited about the potential of what our platform can do for their business.

As the first point of contact you’ll be available on phone, email, SMS, social media and our online live chat to engage with our customers. You’ll understand – and care about – what they’re trying to do, and will quickly build rapport with these busy business owners. If someone emails asking for a call you will absolutely delight them, because they’ll barely have their hands off the keyboard before their phone rings.

You’ll also be highly dedicated to consistent follow up with anyone who has shown recent or past interest in Timely but hasn’t necessarily reached out to us. These businesses have expressed an interest in some aspects of Timely, and it’s up to you to get them engaged and moving forward with us.


📫 We’d love to hear from you if…

  • You have proven work experience as a SDR, Business Development Representative or in a similar sales role
  • You’re an incredible communicator, both written and spoken.
  • You learn quickly when facing new problems and are open to change. You’re continually looking for improvement and will experiment and try anything to increase results.
  • Hands-on experience with multiple sales techniques (including cold calls and a track record of achieving sales quotas)
  • You can build rapport quickly with customers over the phone - your phone manner is friendly and confident, and it’s a place you genuinely enjoy spending time.
  • You’re a team player and can solve problems with peers; you are cooperative and easily gain the trust and support of your peers.
  • You are comfortable with the “No’s” and use that to harness more energy to keep going. You bounce back quickly after setbacks.
  • You understand the difference between features, benefits, and business value: you can quickly apply that thinking to help businesses get excited about what Timely can do for them
  • You have a strong work ethic with confidence to work autonomously and are highly self motivated to reach your own goals along with the team
  • You’re creative in finding ways to reach leads
  • You’re the most motivated person you know: you’re the energiser bunny, getting things done, juggling and prioritising naturally where you need to.
  • You have a passion for the hair and beauty industry!

📑 The nitty gritty

  • This role is full time, permanent and can be based anywhere in New Zealand, VIC or NSW.
  • You must be legally entitled to work in Australia or New Zealand.
  • The interviews for this role will total around 2.5 hours.
