Our Strategic Defense & International Operations Team (SD&IO) is actively recruiting a talented Facilites Engineer (Intermediate) to support our mission critical work with Military Facilities world-wide. In this critical role you will support various engineering disciplines, including mechanical, electrical, and civil engineering in planning, programming, designing, executing, and documenting facility projects to ensure technical engineering criteria and scope are met. Additionally, you will monitor critical milestones, assist with project deliverables and budget, participate in decision-making meetings, and coordinate facilities engineering tasks with government customers and stakeholders.
As a Facilities Engineer with JRC, you will...
- Provide facilities lifecycle programming, acquisition, design, and construction administration of sustainable, environmentally efficient facilities and infrastructure.
- Support conventional and moderately complex engineering assignments, applying engineering techniques and analyses within their discipline (mechanical, electrical or civil).
- Assist the Government Project Manager to plan, program, design, execute, and document facility projects.
- Ensure technical engineering criteria and scope are met.
- Expedite distribution of action items following discussions/meetings with the Program Element, Senior Project Engineer, Project Manager, Contractors and Subcontractors.
- Provide technical engineering expertise for design and construction on projects.
- Assist with all technical engineering aspects of the facilities planning, design and construction for the Facilities Program.
- Participate in bid analysis to help determine supplier availability and capability.
- Develop scope of procurement work, schedules, and budgets for technical aspects of the program and monitor progress.
- Interface with Procurement and Subcontractors to facilitate procurement coordination with vendors/subcontractors and oversight of equipment installation.
- Monitor and track critical milestones for the overall successful delivery of large complex, design and construction projects.
- Assist with project deliverables and budget to identify any current or potential project challenges, employing engineering techniques to facilitate resolution.
- Participate in decision-making meetings with the Government and project management.
- Interact with and coordinate facilities engineering tasks with the government customer, host installations, Architectural & Engineering firms, and executing agencies.
What you bring to the table...
- A bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline).
- 10+ years of relevant experience in construction engineering or similar field.
- Active DoD Security Clearance at the SECRET level or above.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and processes.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook.
- Available for OCONUS travel between 10-15%.
