The Senior Front End Web Developer will be responsible for the complete life cycle of the corporate website development using WordPress. This includes designing, building, testing, deploying, and maintaining the website. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in front-end development, a keen eye for design, and a deep understanding of the WordPress ecosystem. Additionally, this role will involve ongoing customization and maintenance of existing sites and participation in various innovative projects.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain Hyperscience’s corporate website (managed in WordPress), ensuring high performance, availability, and managing all technical aspects.
- Collaborate with design and marketing teams to translate UI/UX design wireframes into code.
- Customize WordPress themes and plugins to meet project requirements.
- Implement responsive design principles to ensure websites are mobile-friendly and cross-browser compatible.
- Optimize website performance, including loading times and scalability.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the latest web technologies and industry trends.
- Troubleshoot and resolve website issues and bugs in a timely manner.
- Conduct website performance tests and regularly monitor website analytics.
- Provide technical support and guidance to other team members as needed.
- Participate in innovation projects, contributing creative ideas and technical expertise to enhance our offerings.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in front-end web development, with a strong focus on WordPress.
- Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and PHP.
- Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks/libraries (e.g., React, Vue.js, Angular).Strong understanding of responsive design principles and mobile-first development.
- Familiarity with version control systems, such as Git.
- Knowledge of SEO best practices and website optimization techniques.
- Experience with RESTful APIs and integrating third-party services.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Nice to have:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Web Development, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Familiarity with other content management systems (e.g., Drupal, Joomla)
- Experience with web performance tools (e.g., Lighthouse, PageSpeed Insights).
- Understanding of accessibility standards and best practices.
The target base compensation range for this role: $107,000 - $161,000. Actual compensation will be dependent upon the individuals skills, experience, qualifications, geographical location, and our business needs and objectives.
