Job Duties
Keep up with current user experience trends and design tools.
Participate in all stages of design/implementation process, including defining the problem statement, creation, implementation, testing, and delivery of the solution.
Collaborate with design team, product owners, researchers, developers, business analysts, and anyone else who can help elevate the assisted tax experience. Apply design methods to bring everyone together, arrive at a design to test, iterate, drive a user-centric solution that meets the business needs, and see it through to launch.
Use data to understand what users are saying with their actions. Constantly look for opportunities, analyze findings from evaluations, and recommend changes to improve the user experience.
Participate in design thinking brainstorms and ideation sessions.
Apply usability engineering methods to establish user requirements, test design solutions, and evaluate product implementation.
Product design specification.
Design storyboards and prototypes of the user interaction model, workflow, information architecture, and user interface for new or modified features.
Write and illustrate complete functional specifications for product features.
Facilitation of user-centric design implementation.
Balance work/priorities on multiple projects with various teams in the department
Advocate for design consistency/design standards across products
Job Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Human Factors, Technical Writing, Instructional Design or related field, or the equivalent through a combination of education and work experience.
Two to four years experience with commercial web-based or end user software products.
Two years experience conducting usability evaluations, using current usability testing and evaluation methods.
Strong understanding of Design Thinking methodology, design & development cycle (the process of specification, design, and implementation) and engineering concerns that arise in designing and building interfaces.
Demonstrated ability to analyze product functionality and propose usability enhancements.
Ability to translate user requirements into product specifications.
Effective oral, written and interpersonal communication skills with one year experience writing and editing for interactive media. Exceptional listening skills.
Experience working with multidisciplinary teams - engineering, application development, documentation, quality assurance, customer service, and marketing teams
