Product (Business) Analyst

SUMMARY

We are seeking a versatile and detail-oriented professional with strong foundational skills in Data Analysis, AI/ML Fundamentals, Research and Documentation, System Design, Product Design, Product Management, Project Management, and Stakeholder Management. The ideal candidate will have a broad understanding of these domains, with the ability to apply their knowledge practically to support and enhance our product development and management processes. This role is perfect for someone with a balance of technical proficiency, analytical thinking, and effective communication skills.

Wadhwani AI is a nonprofit institute building and deploying applied AI solutions to solve critical issues in public health, agriculture, education, and urban development in underserved communities in the global south. ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Data Analysis:

• Interpret simple datasets and conduct data analysis using tools like Excel and SQL.
• Create pivot tables, write SQL queries, and perform data cleanup.
• Develop interactive dashboards using Tableau, with potential for advanced data analysis and visualizations in Power BI.
• Review datasets for errors and perform logic checks.

 

2. AI/ML Fundamentals:

• Understand and explain basic AI/ML concepts, including different types of machine learning and common algorithms.
• Interpret performance metrics and recognize ethical considerations in AI/ML.
• Potentially apply AI/ML knowledge to build, validate, and integrate models into products.

 

3. Research and Documentation:

• Conduct basic secondary research and organize relevant information.
• Take clear meeting notes, summarize information, and create straightforward product documentation.
• Analyze and synthesize complex information for detailed reports and communicate findings to stakeholders.

4. System Design:

• Understand basic system design phases and components, including databases and servers.
• Create simple flowcharts or system diagrams and write SQL queries to fetch data.

 

5. Technical Documentation:

• Familiarize with API integrations and document API usage effectively.

 

6. Product Design:

• Diagram workflows, user journeys, and use design tools like Figma for wireframes.
• Conduct user research and apply Human-Centered Design principles.
• Document user stories related to design features.

 

7. Product Management:

• Understand and document product requirements, user personas, and perform A/B testing.
•  Manage product lifecycle stages, wireframe tools, and utilize tools like Mixpanel and Google Analytics for insights

8. Project Management:

• Manage small projects or tasks with basic project management principles.

 

9. Stakeholder Management:

• Understand stakeholder expectations and collaborate on key decisions.

 

REQUIREMENTS

1. Education and Years of experince

• Btech/BCA with 2-5 years of work experience

2. Data Analysis:

•  Basic data analysis, Excel, and SQL skills.

• Data visualization with Tableau; knowledge of Power BI is a plus.

•  Ability to perform data cleanup and review.

 

3. AI/ML Fundamentals:

• Understanding of basic AI/ML concepts and algorithms.

•  Familiarity with AI/ML performance metrics.

•  Awareness of ethical considerations in AI/ML.

 

4. Research and Documentation:

• Competence in basic research, note-taking, and summarization.

• Ability to create clear product documentation.

 

5. System Design:

• Basic knowledge of system design phases, databases, and SQL queries.

•  Familiarity with Agile/Waterfall methodologies.

 

6. Technical Documentation:

• Understanding of API documentation.

7. Product Design:

• Skills in workflow diagramming and using design tools like Figma.

•  Knowledge of user research and UI/UX principles.

 

8. Product Management:

•  Basic product management knowledge, including A/B testing.

•  Familiarity with tools like Mixpanel and Google Analytics.

 

9. Project Management:

•  Ability to manage small projects.

 

10. Stakeholder Management:

•  Understanding of stakeholder expectations and collaboration.
