Airbnb was born in 2007 when two Hosts welcomed three guests to their San Francisco home, and has since grown to over 4 million Hosts who have welcomed more than 1 billion guest arrivals in almost every country across the globe. Every day, Hosts offer unique stays and experiences that make it possible for guests to connect with communities in a more authentic way.
Airbnb is a mission-driven company dedicated to helping create a world where anyone can belong anywhere. It takes a unified team committed to our core values to achieve this goal. Airbnb's various functions embody the company's innovative spirit and our fast-moving team is committed to leading as a 21st century company.
Launched in 2011 and acquired by Airbnb in 2019, HotelTonight is a stand-alone hotel-booking service focused on making last-minute trips easy and fun, offering travelers seamless booking and exceptional deals at top hotels. Through features such as Daily Drop, personalized daily hotel deals, HotelTonight uses innovation to enable travelers to plan less and live more, while providing hotels new ways to sell inventory.
HotelTonight is a part of the Airbnb family. The hotels team at Airbnb is responsible for taking HotelTonight into new directions and scale. The Airbnb platform also has hotel listings and the hotels team develops systems that help the Airbnb ecosystem have a wide selection of accommodation choices for our guests and the most effective tools for hosts to onboard, manage and thrive on Airbnb.
As an Engineering Manager in the Hotels team, you will be responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and maintenance of tools and systems designed to help hotels integrate seamlessly with Airbnb and HotelTonight systems and position their inventory in the best possible way for both the hotels and our guests. You will own the user experience for hotel guests on HotelTonight and Airbnb to make the user journey painless, helpful and a delight. Your role will involve collaborating with Product Management and cross-functional teams to identify opportunities and develop software and processes to make every HotelTonight and Airbb stay a five star experience. You will provide technical leadership to the team and develop long term technical roadmaps that position the team for greater success down the road.
Engineering Managers are comfortable operating in ambiguity. They enable their team to work backwards from highly ambiguous starting points by leveraging data, running experiments, and following a structured approach to build business use cases that influence a diverse team of experts across engineering, data science, finance, compliance, legal, and business. You will navigate the team through technical and regulatory constraints while simultaneously distilling and communicating complex subject matter to payments and non-payments stakeholders. You will have to be passionate about building a high performing team and creating a unique culture.
