Position Overview
As a Mortgage Originator, you will be responsible for actively participating in the Bank's sales and business development program to cultivate new mortgage business and build relationships with customers, realtors, builders, communities and civic organizations. You will partner with other members of the sales and service team in striving to acquire, expand, and retain customer relationships.
In your role, you will meet with prospective customers to ascertain banking needs and analyze financial information to develop and present mortgage product recommendations based on customers' needs and financial circumstances. You will also ensure the mortgage process is conducted to comply with regulatory requirements from time of application through the completion of the loan closing.
Basic Qualifications
Education/Training: A B.S. or B.A. degree in a business-related field preferred. Position requires incumbent to be registered with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry.
Skill(s): Maintain a current knowledge of laws and regulations which impact mortgage banking services. Proven ability to develop referral sources from internal and external contacts and relationships. Proficient reading, writing, grammar, and mathematics skills along with proficient interpersonal relations, communicative, and sales skills. A working knowledge of bank operating policies and procedures which impact mortgage loan services. A thorough knowledge of the features and benefits of all bank mortgage loan products and services. Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, lift items weighing 20 lbs. or less; visual, auditory and speaking skills. Valid driver's license and travel is required.
Experience: A minimum of two (2) years' experience in related positions normally required.
