-Remote Position, must live within 50 miles of Corporate Office, Grandville, MI
-Pay Range: $24.00 to $29.00 /hr based on related experience
-Part Time, 30+ Hours/Week, Fluctuates with Workload; Busiest times of the year are Jan-April.

The Leave Management & Safety Coordinator plays a pivotal role in overseeing all aspects of leave management, including Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), personal, medical, military, bereavement, and the full cycle return-to-work process while ensuring compliance with associated employment regulations. This position leads the safety program, creates safety communication, and administers ongoing education initiatives. Additionally, the role involves directing and educating team members and managers on the leave process while providing backup support to the Workers' Compensation Specialist.  

Leave Management

  • Coordinates all types of leave requests, including FMLA, personal, medical, bereavement, and military leave. 
  • Reviews and processes leave requests in strict adherence to company policies and applicable regulations. 
  • Educates team members and managers on requisite processes, procedures, and documentation, providing ongoing support until leave resolution. 
  • Maintains precise leave records and ensures meticulous compliance with documentation requirements. 
  • Communicates leave status and requirements effectively with team members and managers. 
  • Demonstrates an unwavering commitment to fostering a safe and supportive work environment. 
  • Facilitates the return-to-work process, collaborating with managers to implement necessary temporary accommodation adjustments. 

Disability Pay Administration

  • Assists in the completion and submission of disability forms, ensuring timely provision of requisite documentation to benefit vendors for short-term and long-term disability insurance. 
  • Collaborates with the Payroll and HRIS Coordinator to accurately record earned paid time off (PTO) requests in the HRIS. 

Desired Education, Skills, & Experience Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, occupational health and safety, business administration, or a related field, or equivalent education and experience. 
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in leave management within a human resource department required; experience in disability administration, occupational health and safety, and workers' compensation preferred. 
  • Thorough knowledge of pertinent regulations, encompassing FMLA, ADA, OSHA, and workers' compensation laws. 
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, facilitating effective interaction with team members. 
  • Exemplary organizational acumen and meticulous attention to detail. 
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS software; familiarity with ADPWorkforceNow preferred. 
  • Demonstrated proclivity for collaborative teamwork, coupled with profound respect for all team members.
