DevOps Engineer
Location: Whitehouse Station, NJ - Hybrid
Duration: 6 months +


Job description
Responsibilities
Ideal candidate will be a highly skilled Dev/Ops engineer with experience in building secure dev/ops pipelines in a cloud environment – preferrably for Data Engineering projects. You are a self-starter who is passionate about software engineering, dev/ops, data and analytics with a focus on security, resiliency and automation. You are adept in developing solution architecture patterns that secure and protect senstive data.
• Understand Client custom dev/ops systems and technology stack
• Build relationships with Dev/Ops and SRE teams
• Understand Application patterns in Data Engineering space – Python, Kafka, IICS, MDM )
• Mentor, assist and enable CI/CD for Data Engineering use cases by working closely with Data engineers, Dev/Ops and SRE Teams.
• Enable automation, Self Service flows for frequently requested tasks
• Work with enterprise security teams, understand corporate security policies and evangalize those policies in the Data Engineering pipelines
• Improve system auditability and monitoring
• Build Data Engineering pipelines for assigned use cases.
• Be resident expert on CI/CD, Dev/OPS, Automation and monitoring.
• Review solutions and be a gatekeeper of secure development practices
• Understand Dev/Ops and development pain points and work with various security and enterprise architecture teams towards acceptable solutions.


Qualifications
• Degree in software engineering, computer science or other engineering field
• 3 to 5 years of experience in .net or python programming
• 1-2 years of experience in cloud data lake technologies, preferably azure
• Expertise in CI/CD, Dev/ops, cloud security in Agile setting
• Expertise in Python, Git, Nexus, Jenkins, teraform, azcli, powershell,twist lock or similar tools
• Familiar with working in linux operating system and scripting
• Proficient in Security technoligies around authentication, authorization, azure active directory, sentinel, auditing and Data exfiltration
• Proficient in Data store security and audting
• Working knowledge of network, security, NSG and firewalls
• Understanding of Key vaults and Cert management
