We have a vacant position for a UK-based Coach Developer of our market in Japan. As part of the Moment team, your role will be integral in improving our coaching quality, thereby improving our learners' cooking skills so they can confidently enjoy their everyday cooking.
Fluent communication in Japanese is essential.

Role overview:
We are seeking a Coach Developer for our Japan market, based in the UK, joining our dynamic team at our Bristol headquarters. Cookpad is launching Moment, a premium service, in four countries: Japan, UK, France, and Italy. This new product offers an innovative way for people to learn cooking with personal coaching from professional chefs.
You will play a crucial role in training and developing our chefs (coaches) to ensure we deliver the high-quality standards we aspire to. Your focus will be on enhancing our coaching through training and development, ensuring that coaches are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to provide exceptional coaching experiences for our learners.
You will work closely with another team member based in Japan, who handles customer communications, including support messages asking coaches to take action in specific cases with specific customers. These two roles have a lot of crossover, so our expectation is that you will work harmoniously and have direct communication to ensure tasks do not fall between responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Coach Training and Development
- Facilitate frequent communication with coaches to ensure they deliver the best possible coaching experience.
- Provide feedback on coaching performance, consult with chefs on customer-related questions, and offer training to enhance service quality.
- Develop and implement training programs that align with our product design and quality standards.
- Foster a community of practice among coaches to share best practices and continuously improve.
Operations Management
- Manage operational tasks related to coach development from start to finish, ensuring all details are handled and objectives are met.
- Collaborate closely with the product development team to ensure that coaching standards align with product features and updates.
- Participate in the feedback loop on our product, sharing blockers and addressing any issues quickly to enhance user experience.
- Analyze data and feedback to continuously improve coaching methods and standards.
Building Relationships
- Build strong rapport and trust with coaches through proactive and customer-centric communication.
- Develop deep knowledge of the problems we are solving to ensure customer satisfaction and coach effectiveness.
- Work closely with the team member based in Japan to ensure seamless communication and collaboration, preventing tasks from falling between responsibilities.
