Roles and Responsibilities:
Job Summary/Overview:
The Project Electrician will support the daily operations of the Samsung Taylor Semiconductor electrical infrastructure. Execute QAQC, functional testing, commissioning and energization of new electrical equipment. Support approved energized electrical work. This role is on-site in Taylor, TX.
Specific Job Duties:
Support all approved EEW request within the department and other departments at Samsung Taylor site.
QAQC and commissioning of electrical equipment such as circuit breakers, bus plugs bus ways, transformers, switchgear, capacitor banks, rectifiers and panels.
Inspect electrical systems, equipment, or components to identify hazards, defects or the need for adjustment and repair. And to insure compliance with NEC and job site specifications.
Interpret blueprints, step plans and schematics.
Write new and modify existing operational standard operating procedures.
Work from ladders, scaffolds, roofs, inside clean room, high noise areas and hot environments to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures.
Perform troubleshooting of relay controls, variable frequency drives, Motor control centers
Utilize systems to track repairs, parts inventory, and preventive maintenance.
Establish and write policies, procedures and guidelines for plant operations and maintenance.
Respond to Central Control Room requests for site alarms or site/fab issues.
Support Engineering activities to install and retrieve power-monitoring equipment as requested.
Familiar with Samsung software systems and procedures

Skills and Qualifications:
Education, Training, Certification(s) and Minimum years of experience required
Requires unrestricted State of Texas electrical journeyman’s license 3-year minimum, masters license or the ability to obtain a masters within a year is preferred.
High School Diploma or GED is required; with some college or trade school preferred, apprentice work/study program is a positive.
OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 preferred
Complete Qualified Electrical Worker based training that is required to perform electrical work at site.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Software, and Tools
Understand hazards of electricity ranging from 138kv to 24v DC
Follow plant policies in accordance with OSHA, EPA, NFPA70E Lockout/Tag out, plant safety rules and confined entry regulations
Strong knowledge of the NEC 70E as it applies to industrial installations.
Strong understanding of electrical distribution system and single line diagrams
Experience with and understanding of common medium voltage and high voltage protection systems
Experience and training in the use of digital multimeters to read Voltage, Current (Amps), and Resistance
Ability to use testing equipment, such as oscilloscopes and thermal imagers.
Wear personal safety equipment such as safety shoes. Safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection. Hard hat and 40cal hot work suit.
Write and review electrical SOPs
Write and execute pre task plans for repair and maintenance of electrical systems.
Able to use Excel, Word and Samsung specific systems.
Be an active contributor to site electrical safety improvements and improve the team’s NEC 70E level of knowledge.
Meeting the schedule for startup and commissioning of a new semiconductor fab.
It is important for the candidate to have an industrial electrical background but semiconductor experience is not as important.
Must have some basic skills with Word/ Excel/Power Point and be able to learn the internal systems that Samsung uses on a daily basis.
Minimum Tech 2 level with senior tech preferred. Possible advancement up to master tech level.
