Buyer - Women's Plus Size Apparel

The Women’s Plus Size Apparel Buyer is responsible for the buying and assorting our Plus Size Style Edit category. Develop seasonal strategies that will deliver the Wantable customer the greatest on-trend mix possible, with the highest quality and perceived value; Deliver planned financial targets through customer right vendors/brand relationships, curating the best items while negotiating the best costs that deliver the highest perceived value and gross margin.

Responsibilities

• Source new vendors that meet and/or exceed the needs of the customer.
• Drive the overall strategic vision for the Plus Size seasonal assortment.
• Partner with the planning team to construct and manage seasonal financial targets.
• Negotiate all costs, payment and shipping terms with vendors.
• Analyze business performance and present strategic next steps to both the functional and cross-functional teams.
• Leverage customer data to build seasonal product assortments to ensure a superior customer experience.
• Work closely with Planning, Product Development, and Marketing on seasonal/monthly/weekly sales forecasts to ensure inventory availability.
• Monitor product return rate and address as appropriate to maintain the targeted rate.
• Attend trade shows, market weeks and vendor showrooms to ensure that our mix is at the forefront of market trends.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
• 3 - 5 years buying experience in the Women’s Plus Size Fashion and/or Fitness Apparel.
• Analytic Skills: Ability to think objectively and interpret meaningful themes from quantitative and qualitative data .
• Problem Solving & Decision Quality: Able to use rigorous logic and methods to solve problems with effective solutions.
• Collaboration: Able to build constructive and effective relationships with a broad and diverse group of business partners.
• Influencing & Negotiation: Can present ideas and directions that lead others to action.
• Presentation Skills: Effective in a variety of presentation settings including one-on-one, small and large groups, and with peers and bosses.
• Financial and Business Acumen: Ability to evaluate financial and business indicators and translate data into actionable information to drive results; proficiency in retail math.
