ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide expertise underwriting loans to members and non members through Florida Credit Union various loan origination channels direct, indirect, LSI, etc... Conduct these activities in accordance with Credit Union policies, goals and objectives established by the manager by performing the following member service duties including but not limited to:
Underwrite real estate mortgage loans, home equity, direct, indirect, and consumer loans, Business loans including business loans under 50K or less, with a Primary focus on real estate underwriting.
Support Mortgage Direct and Indirect to have lending decision made in a timely manner.
Communicate to mortgage department including Mortgage manager, Processors, and Mortgage Loan Originators information in regards to the loan application as it pertains to underwriting.
Remain abreast of all FCU products including Client.
Ability to read, interpret and understand real estate appraisals , title reports, flood reports, and tax returns.
Ability to calculate income correctly using approved forms of income verification.
Effectively use tools such as members' loan applications and credit reports.
Answering telephone and responding to mail inquiries.
Discussing loan alternatives, credit criteria, interest rates, and loan documentation in such a manner as to elicit a positive response from the member.
Conducting loan interviews and obtaining previous credit history of member, as well as other pertinent data that could be used later.
Establishes loans considering such factors as member's assets, liabilities, credit experience, and references based on FCU loan procedures.
Notifying member by mail and telephone, and/or in person of approval or disapproval of application.
Compliance with OFAC, and the Bank Secrecy Act.
Responsible for working cooperatively with other departments in the credit union as necessary.
Regular and predictable attendance.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Must be a level 2 or 3 loans officer and must have high underwriting skills. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in business/financial environment.
