Job Description
- The Medical Radiation Technologist (MRT) is a regulated health professional working under indirect supervision performing various diagnostic imaging procedures.
- The MRT uses their extensive knowledge, skill and judgement in the principles of anatomy, physiology and pathology, as well as imaging acquisition to provide high quality care to their patients.
- MRTs must be able to demonstrate effective problem-solving skills while participating in a team building environment. Contributes to ensuring there is a safe environment for patients, staff and visitors.
- MRTs provide high quality assessments using radiological principles.

- Be a member of a medical team where your skills help establish a diagnosis.
- Perform high quality radiologic exams on patients in a timely manner.
- Follow special instructions as indicated on requisitions.
- Assist physicians directly.
- Apply technical judgment in obtaining high quality imaging studies.
- Assist with special projects, reports and activities.
- Maintain cooperative and professional relationships with patients, physicians, nurses, office and clinical staff.
- Responsible for the operation and basic maintenance of all equipment.
- Responsible for maintaining safety and the general care and cleanliness of the radiographic area, with particular attention to radiation safety and infection control
- Must maintain the utmost in professional confidence of patient information and/or results
Qualifications, Experience, and Minimum Requirements
- Must be a graduate of a Medical Radiation Technology or other equivalent Diagnostic Imaging programs.
- Internationally Educated Medical Radiation Technologistsmust have an active application or currently pursuing a licensing application with Provincial Regulatory Body (e.g. CMRITO – Regulator of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists in Ontario)
- Must have hold a valid registration or license to practise in your country (if applicable)
- Flexibility to work a variety of shifts
- Minimum of 2 years work experience as a Medical Radiation/Imaging Technologist.
