Pentaho Product Owner

Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Product Owner with a strong background in metadata management products to lead the development and enhancement of our Pentaho-based solutions. As the Product Owner, you will be responsible for working with the Product Manager and Technical Product Manager to translate the roadmap into detailed features & requirements and with Engineering to deliver a high-quality product.

 The role

Key Responsibilities:
• Backlog Management:
o Create, prioritize, and maintain the product backlog, ensuring that it reflects the product vision and strategic goals.
o Write detailed user stories, acceptance criteria, and use cases that clearly articulate business needs and product requirements.
o Continuously refine the backlog based on feedback, changing requirements, and new opportunities.
• Product Development:
o Work closely with the development team to ensure that features are implemented according to specifications and timelines.
o Participate in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives, providing guidance and making decisions to keep the project on track.
o Conduct regular reviews of product progress, ensuring that the delivered features meet the desired quality standards and business objectives.
• Stakeholder Management:
o Collaborate closely with Sales, Services, and Customer Support teams, to ensure product requirements are relevant
o Serve as the primary point of contact between stakeholders and the Engineering team, facilitating clear communication and managing expectations
o Collaborate with Sales Enablement to develop sales enablement material for delivered product features

What you’ll bring

Qualifications:
• Education & Experience:
o 5+ years of experience as a Product Owner or similar role, preferably within data integration, business intelligence, or analytics platforms
o Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or a related field
o Proven experience with Pentaho or similar data integration/BI tools
• Technical Skills:
o Strong understanding of data integration, ETL processes, and business analytics.
o Experience with Agile methodologies, particularly Scrum or Kanban.
o Proficiency in writing user stories, acceptance criteria, and technical documentation.
o Familiarity with SQL, data warehousing concepts, and big data technologies is a plus.
• Soft Skills:
o Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
o Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
o Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
o Leadership qualities with the ability to influence and drive cross-functional teams.
