This is a really important role and a great opportunity for someone to join a busy Finance team, within a fast-growing business, acting as the key liaison between the company and suppliers. If you have experience in a similar role, a keen eye for detail, a positive approach to your work and can work quickly and accurately, we’d love to hear from you.
In this role you will:
- Gather quotes for purchases, and liaise and negotiate with suppliers
- Review invoices for accuracy, completeness and appropriate authorisation before payments are processed
- Ensure all supplier invoices are accurately processed in accordance with company policy
- Prepare regular payment runs for four companies, ensuring suppliers are paid to terms
- Maintain key supplier relationships and proactively and efficiently resolve any queries
- Manage the supplier inbox, dealing with all supplier invoices and expenses
- Monitor aged payables and ensure timely payment of invoices and avoidance of late fees
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounts payable records, including payment status and supplier information
- Support the development and implementation of effective, efficient and scalable procurement and accounts payable processes
You’ll work with:
- The Finance team - there are currently 10 of us, a well-connected and supportive team
- Our suppliers
- Department Heads and Chiefs who make procurement requests
Requirements
We're interested in anyone who meets the following criteria:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in an accounts payable or similar role
- Familiarity with Sage, Quickbooks, or another accounting software
- Accounts Payable process improvements experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills as you’ll be the key contact with suppliers
- Confident and experienced in procuring items and services for purchase
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Strong numeracy and attention to detail
- The ability and motivation to adapt, multi-task, and learn quickly in a fast-paced and changing environment
