Potentially A brief overview of your facility and what you produce- The Peterborough Site is a mixed use site where there are Client Office, Leased Manufacturing Buildings and vacant buildings. The role is to support the Client team with facility related projects including renovations, removals and facility management programs.
Screen- Onsite, Phone, or via Teams ? Screening can be via teams (initially) then in person. The role is on site (not remote).

Project Engineer Facility and Site Projects Project Engineer Job Purpose:
To lead facility related projects on a large manufacturing campus including construction, deconstruction, decommissioning, upgrades and modifications to existing structures and buildings.
Project Engineer Job Duties:
Project Related Duties:
Develop detailed project plans that are able to execute the management teams strategic vision for the site.
Lead and participate in the standard phases of implementing a construction projects; team building, assigning roles and responsibilities, developing timelines, participating in project reviews, etc.
Determine project responsibilities and ownership by creating detailed action items that are required to keep the overall project on track.
Be responsible for co-ordinating and communicating status updates of the project to the project team (including contractors, support staff, etc.), operational team (including shop floor personnel, supervisors, etc.) and the senior management team.
Maintain the project schedule by creating recommendations and alternatives based on the project status considering any obstacles that prevent the project from moving forward.
Actively manage the budget of the project by tracking expenses and looking for opportunities to reallocate funding as required.
Ensure the highest standard of health and safety during the life of the project by; actively engaging the contractors in the internal health and safety program requirements, performing daily/weekly/monthly audits on site to ensure compliance, and managing the housekeeping expectations of internal and external resources, etc.
Identify and communicate site specific risks with contractor (building condition, site features, designated substances and hazardous materials, etc. and ensure appropriate mitigation plans are in place
Obtaining the necessary permits and approvals for all projects including internal approvals and external permits and authorization.
Technical/Engineering Related Duties:
Oversee contractors as they work to complete several different phases of facility related projects such as: characterization, remediation, decommissioning, site preparation, construction, installation, commissioning, etc.
Lead the planning and design stages of facility related projects. Provide technical expertise related to building design as it pertains to meeting all of the current building codes for industrial locations.
Generate the technical documents required to specify the work to be done, obtain quotes and evaluate the most suitable vendors. These documents include; General Construction Specifications, AutoCAD layouts, Building Code Compliance Documents, Vendor Selection Matrices, etc.
Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental and building code regulations (local, provincial, federal) along with making sure all corporate mandates/expectations are met during the project.
Liaise with the appropriate regulatory organizations during the life cycle of the project including; municipal planners, building inspectors, Electrical Safety Authority (ESA), Technical Safety Standards Association (TSSA), The Ministry of Environment, The Ministry of Labour, etc.
Skills:
Project Management Skills (team building, communication, organization), Project Management Software (preferably Microsoft Office, Visio, PowerPoint), Supervisory skills (preferably in a unionized environment over skilled trades), Technical Background in Construction (preferably in commercial or industrial construction), Knowledge of construction industry (codes, regulations, etc.), Technical Software (AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel, etc.),
Qualifications:
Engineering Degree, Engineering Technologist Diploma, Engineering Technician Diploma, Skilled Trades Certificate
Minimum of 5 years experience in industrial or commercial facility management environment.
