We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Wellsite Supervisor (Toolpusher) to join our team. This role ensures that all operations are conducted safely, efficiently, and in compliance with industry standards, company procedures, and regulatory requirements.
As a Wellsite Supervisor (Toolpusher), you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations at the well site during the drilling, completion, and workover of oil and gas wells.
Your key responsibilities will include leading and managing the drilling crew and service personnel to ensure optimal performance and well execution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all wellsite activities, including drilling, completion, workover, and rig maintenance operations.
- Coordinate and supervise all personnel, including drilling crews, service providers, and contractors, ensuring smooth, safe, and efficient operation of the rig.
- Ensure that all operations are conducted in compliance with safety regulations, environmental standards, and company policies.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any mechanical, electrical, or operational issues related to the rig.
- Coordinate regular inspections and preventive maintenance schedules for rig equipment and systems.
- Monitor well progress, make real-time operational decisions to address downhole conditions, and optimize drilling parameters to achieve operational goals.
- Oversee the proper use of equipment such as top drives, mud pumps, and BOP (Blowout Preventer) systems.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all wellsite activities, including daily reports, incident reports, rig logs, and equipment maintenance records.
- Coordinate emergency response efforts in the event of an incident or equipment failure, ensuring that all personnel are trained and familiar with emergency procedures.
Qualifications:
- Hands-on experience in managing drilling and completion operations, including rig operations and well control.
- Strong knowledge of drilling processes, rig equipment, and mechanical systems.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, with at least 2 years as a Toolpusher or in a supervisory role on a drilling rig.
- Experience with mud logging, well testing, drilling fluid systems, and blowout preventers (BOPs).
- Well Control certification (e.g., IADC WellCAP, IWCF).
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills for resolving operational and equipment issues.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to coordinate with onshore teams, field staff, and third-party contractors.
Preferred Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; a technical degree or certifications in petroleum or mechanical engineering.
- Safety certifications such as H2S (Hydrogen Sulfide), First Aid, Confined Space Entry, and Rig Safety.
- Valid offshore survival training (e.g., BOSIET or FOET).
- Ability to work long hours (including nights and weekends) on a rotational schedule.
