The Opportunity:
We’re looking for a Bilingual Supervisor, Transfers to join our Operations team.
Reporting to the Manager of Operations, the Bilingual Supervisor, Transfers is responsible for overseeing the Transfers Team, managing volumes and ensuring daily deadlines are met. Supervisory responsibilities include recruiting, training, coaching, mentoring, and scheduling of staff, including overseeing new employee onboarding and providing career development planning and opportunities.

What your day looks like:
- Set and monitor standards for departmental procedures, ensuring quality, accuracy and efficiency maintaining SLA’s
- Set positive leadership tone through gaining respect of staff, peers and stakeholders
- Ensure staff members receive timely and appropriate training and development
- Coach staff to increase performance while increasing/maintaining employee engagement and career growth and support onboarding of new employees
- Ensure all processes and procedures are current in all manuals – internal and external, including departmental SLAs
- Responsible for internal and external communications while following the appropriate channels for distribution, liaising with external vendors and trustees as required
- Analyze current business practices and identify areas within the department for process improvements, make recommendations and implement procedures to streamline workflow
- Handle departmental project related work and participate in the implementation of department and division initiatives as required and delegate as necessary
- Support staff with escalated or complex issues and respond to all customer inquiries (internal/external) and ensure customer service levels are maintained within the department, updating management as appropriate
- Ensure appropriate staffing, training and development needs including cross-training of staff so that individuals are up to date and can provide redundancy in all positions within the team
- Review and approve daily journal postings and monthly account reconciliations (IIROC/MFDA)
- Monthly reporting of SLA standards, including exceptions, in a timely manner and create business plans to manage resources during high volumes
- Maintain current knowledge of industry initiatives and standards (MFDA/IIROC) and registered plans products, CDS/ATON, IIROC/MFDA rules, regulations, and protocols
- Liaise with management in the process and procedural reporting for both external and internal auditors as required
Requirements
Your experience and skills:
- Post-secondary education and continuing education relating to the Investment Industry, specifically operations functions
- In-depth knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements, and the successful completion of the IFIC and/or the CSC is an asset
- 3 – 5 years of progressively responsible experience in the investment industry, including past supervisory experience for a minimum of 1 – 2 years
- Excellent delegation, organizational, time management and administrative skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work under pressure, set priorities and meet time constraints
- Solid analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks with the appropriate attention to detail
- Superior customer service with the ability to quickly identify and resolve problems to the satisfaction of all parties
- Highly motivated and results driven
- Intermediate computer skills in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Access. Advanced Excel skills an asset
- Fluent communication skills in both French and English are required

Salary
This position is posted with an expected salary range of $75,000 - $85,000 CAD annually. Individual compensation packages are based on various factors unique to each candidate and the requirements of the position.
